From what I've seen, part of the agreement with Senate Republicans was that SNAP would be funded for a year, all federal employees that were fired during the shutdown would be rehired, and all federal employees, including those that were fired, would get back pay.

Yeah. It isn't a coincidence that the Senators that defected are either retiring, or don't have an election next year.

An agreement with Senate Republicans is worth, and I'm being literal here, nothing.

Exactly. Expect the House to remove the various funding Dems got, then it will go through on reconciliation.

    Let's break this down:
    • SNAP funding - The Trump admin will probably pay this out. But they'll drag their heals or exact some other pain.
    • Federal employees hired back - Trump will say that's up to him and they won't be hired back.
    • Back pay - Same thing: Trump will say that's up to him and they won't (all) get the back pay.
So, what exactly did they get for this capitulation?

    Yup.

But you still don't allow Angus King to go out there today and say what he did!

Not only Schumer. These 8 need to stripped of any committee assignments that are of any importance at all and treated as toxic

Or Tim Kaine being like “there are way more of us who wanted to vote this way and they’re glad we brave soldiers did!”

    Like, man, don’t admit that.

It’s an obvious rumor…by that I mean, I knew this was going to be a rumor whether it’s true or not.

That’s another reason why I’d like Warren or someone to push in caucus to replace Durbin. Let’s find out where everyone, especially Schumer, stands.

The United States is going to hell.

His press conference will make anyone go on a jihad.

Let's not forget David Hogg was kicked out for wanting to stop this kind of crap from happening.

Not sold this will happen, specifically because Trump has appealed to SCOTUS to not pay the benefits.
Yup. This is scary to say, but I agree with you.

Y'all, can you please quote Xweets when you post in the non-tweet thread. Like this:

Today, from Rashida Tlaib, for what it's worth.

Sen. Schumer has failed to meet this moment and is out of touch with the American people. The Democratic Party needs leaders who fight and deliver for working people. Schumer should step down.

I've known several people who have had strokes. They can cause brain damage, but not always. Sometimes people can fully recover. It depends on what exactly happened.

More weakness from Rashida. He doesn't need to step down: he should be forced out of leadership and forced to resign or be primaried in disgrace.

She’s not even a senator. She has barely more influence in this than you or I do. Not weakness. But I’m not sure her calling for anything is particularly helpful

Like Sinema,he is amassing generational wealth by doing business's bidding.

    This observation rings true:

Chuck Schumer Doesn’t Know What Time It Is
    https://www.techdirt.com/2025/11/10/chuck-schumer-doesnt-know-what-time-it-is/

That's right. But they don't have the stomach to fight. They don't even understand it. It's just not the way so many Democrats think about any of this.
