Something that dems HAVE to do something about when, (if?), they get in again...

Sounds like the Senate Dems are caving.

I guess they got tired of winning.

"Basically nothing"? More like actually nothing.

It won't pass the Senate. And the House won't even take it up.

The Democrats really are right back to being worse than useless.

I've said it before, I'll say it again:

I fear the Republicans. I hate the Democrats.

Dems don't have a majority in any of the branches and the problem with these things is there's no right answer.

Caving to Trump and the GOP for a useless pinky-promise is the wrong answer.

Schumer isn't exactly caving to it though. Nor is this going to have long term effects.

I know you like to doom and gloom but if last week is any indication, it's going to look like Arkansas is going Dem again at this rate.

I didn't save it for posting here, but I wrote Senator Cortez Masto (D-NV and widely reported to be one of the cavers) today and said, you need to hold out to get some real concessions - make the Republicans in Congress pass legislation to rein in Trump's illegal acts, and if they don't do that, don't give them any help. With the shutdown, Republicans were finally seeing consequences as their constituents complain to them, but by caving, they're just letting Republicans get away with no consequences.

She's on old school Democrat. Kindness and a soci- uh, collective good triuble way of thinking is part of what the party is.

It's like a presidential funeral. When Trump gets his just desserts, the surviving POTUSes will attend. It doesn't mean they're grieving.

"Yeah, ******** Cheney. Leave him out on the dusty plain without embalming him and see if anything eats him. Bet nothing does".

Now, Kamala can't say that. But I can.

More than half of this is a non sequitur. The rest is beside the point.

The Democrats did well last week despite record disapproval levels. You don't improve your approval levels by doing what a bunch of quisling Dems did tonight. (You do, however, attract primary opponents while gaining absolutely nothing.) And you don't build winning momentum by losing. The Democrats lost tonight. They lost for nothing. All they did was display their chronic political stupidity and weakness.

They will regret this failure. I'm sure they'll conduct a study and produce a white paper. Because that's what Democrats do instead of playing hardball.

And I just wrote to Senator Rosen (D-NV), who also caved today. Not going to copy the whole thing, but the ending was "Your next election may be five years from now, but I have a long memory and I won't forget your betrayal of American principles today."

They don’t need a majority unless Republicans get rid of the filibuster.

If you look at the senators who negotiated the deal, I think they’re all huge fans of the goddamn filibuster.

Way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, you feckless ********s.

I've been telling you all if you want to beat the Fascists you are going to have to start listening to the Socialists and the Anarchists and the Marxists. The Fascists? They aren't scared of Neoliberals!!! As we've seen tonight Liberals will ALWAYS capitulate to the Fascists. You know who the Fascists are scared of? The ones they label their enemy. The Socialists. The Marxists. The Anarchists.

When you gonna start listening to the people who you know, ACTUALLY OPPOSE FASCISM. This is an open book test people. Plenty of books that will show you this stuff. Nights like tonight are why I've left my echo chamber and have joined this forum. Because I care about the future of this country.

EDIT: And yes I voted for Kamala Harris even though she's a fricken War Criminal.
