Jack Hanna has a 0.0% chance of happening. He lives in Montana and has been hit hard with dementia and Alzheimer's and barely recognizes his family. Now, ya know who does have Columbus ties, if even a bit tenuous? David Letterman and Tom Llamas.
Nicklaus was a wreck at the Masters first drive ceremony, which needs to be cancelled anyway. ( Without Arnold Palmer, nobody cares) He only made it out to the tee literally leaning on Barbara, who they dressed up as his caddy as she carried a small bag with one club in it. He barely made it out of there without having to be carried. It was incredibly sad. Im reasonably certain a penny ante appearance like ldc pregame is a no.
"The Crew should stop highlighting Ohio State sports, it's counterproductive to the goal of growing the fanbase to promote teams you're competing with for entertainment dollars." Usual Suspect #1: "You all need to shut up, this doesn't interest me and we should be talking about tactics or celebrating referees instead." Usual Suspect #2: "Here are some D-list Crew alumni to prove what a small and unsophisticated market Columbus is."
How many “casuals” attend a HIR match? Some, I suppose, but it’s a sellout. Not an easy of cheap ticket to get. I’d like to think that casuals at the match will become enthralled with, you know, the match. Not some misaligned pregame cameo by someone who - while we’ll-known in Columbus - has nothing to do with the club and its legitimate history.
Yeah, I know about Hanna. Sucks Letterman hasn't been relevant in... 10 years? 20 years? Don't know the other guy.
You are correct in his current state. He is gotta be 85+ by now. But he is far and away the best ever golfer (50 top 3 major finishes) and a graduate of Upper Arlington High School.
I take a back seat to no one in my admiration for Jacks accomplishments and his relevance to the area. I was referring the the fact that maybe, just maybe, being able TO STAND AND WALK 30 FEET WITHOUT HAVING TO BE SCRAPED UP OFF THE TURF might, you know, be a relevant factor.
What's funny is that the watershed guy then proceeded to sell off his distillery and spin off the restaurants like a few weeks later. Went out on a high note
Archie is doing a TV hit with 10TV's Adam King right now. So they are getting their miles with Archie. A spot on 10TV with Archie endorsing the crew helps somewhat.
We need an Apple TV crossover with Seth Rogen’s The Studio and to get Kool Aid Man to jump though the brick wall.
So…. If Aidan Might Motor Morris was in town anyway, which he probably won’t be for the foreseeable future, and Archie Griffin lives in Cbus, wouldn’t it have made sense for Aidan to be the match igniter?
Maybe so, but all.Archie does is play golf and have dinner with recruits or big money donors. Surely his schedule.is flexible.
Two different people Colin owned Colin's Coffee at Fishinger and Riverside until that was torn down for the development Pretty sure neither he, nor Joe, had any part in the Watershed distillery. Though I supposed the drummer could have
Mostly agree. It's pretty much dumb, but whatever, it doesn't take away from my experience. Actually prefer it over the jackhammer, but same thing there, it doesn't take away from my experience except when it may, or may not, have contributed to the Zawadski playing Keeper issue that one time. So maybe that means I'm not the best person to opine on who should/should not be igniter, but I don't think the match igniter needs to be a "Name" person. If/when it is, great. When it's not, okay. No problem with being a Sponsor or let the hometown hero of the game do it, or whatever. It's a 5 second thing. No one buys their ticket based on the igniter. We often don't even know who it is in advance.
