Simply a coincidence? All the teams that have played Korea in 2002 have failed to pass the preliminaries except Portugal but they are the hosts. Do they deserve it? I think so (except Turkey) 1. Italy Any fan that has seen the great Azzuri play in the past will instantly say that they are a fan. Even Italy's great Serie-A, with adrenaline-rushing teams such as Juventus, AC/INTER Milan, Lazio, ect,. has always made the world scene and has proven that Italy can be the world's greatest. BUT! They play some ugly soccer. They call the Azzuri the "Cattenaccio" which means something like super-duper great defense or something like the lines of that. The Azzuri has already failed to Korea in 2002 by playing defense after scoring 1 goal but blamed poor Mr. Moreno and Hyundai for buying the refs. They lost fair and square and they continue to whine even to this day. That's not all. Roma's Prince, Totti. and this 10 other side-kicks on the field. They whine whine dive whine spit grab whine and kick. A dirty and ugly team like Italy. Surely they don't deserve a spot pass the preliminaries in Portugal. GOOD RIDDANCE.
2. SPAIN Ok. I won't talk much ******** about Spain. They should have beaten Korea but the fact is, they haven't. The better team doesnt always win. Morientes should not have hit that damn post and Joaquin should not have missed the PK. The linesman should not have called that ball out of bounds and Lee Woon-jae shouldve made an attempt to at least catch Morientes' piece of ********t header. Casillas said something like "no matter how hard we tried, we couldn't have beaten Korea". What total BS. Of course Spain could not beat Korea because they didn't do their jobs. The ball is round and sorry to say just because Spain lost to some 3rd tier country in some 3rd tier place of the world does not justify their whinning. Good riddance Spain. Thank you for losing to Portugal. Thank you for your "we only have to draw Portugal to advance" mentality. Thank you for showing the world that you, in fact, like Italy, are just piece of shieetss. At least your are not as dirty as Italy.
3. Germany Trash. Trash. Trash. Their league is trash too. What more can I say. Korea has always made fun of Germany because they suck now. And in fact Klose is a 3rd-tier nerd-lookalike striker. Korea should have beaten Germany and have gone to Yokohama. Lucky Germany has made the finals because they played unlucky Korea when they were really tired. but heck. Thats life. 4. Portugal Sorry Portugal. Thats as far as you go. Telling Ahn Jung-hwan to tie so you guys can advance...at least we did the Americans a favor. Thats REAL good sportsmanship, Portugal. "LETS JUST FIX IT UP SO WE CAN BOTH ADVANCE!" Well screw you. We didnt need it and we sent you home pretty quickly. Oh and with both of your 2 red cards that shouldve banned those two players forever from the world of FIFA. Trying break our players' legs and punching the ref in the stomache. you don't deserve anything further than the quarters.
someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed.... What bout Poland? we beat em 3-0 and they weren't even in euro 2004...
Yeah well it works both ways. The past 2 years after 2002 isn't what I'd consider a success in any form of the imagination.
you watch, 2006 world cup, IF we somehow do surprise upsets, there will be much more whining from them cocky countries
Goodbye France England Italy Germany Spain This is the greatest Euro Championship ever. Down with Eurosnobs.
You have an axe to grind it seems. Granted, I understand the disdain toward the high minded Europeans and their lofty attitudes, but all of this coming so suddenly at once is a little surprising. Another giant has fallen by the way side. Can't say that I'm glad Spain is out. Italy pissed me off with their pre-game conspiracy talk. England's departure means that the yobs will go home and Beckham will have some humble pie to eat before we hear again how "we'll win it all." The French exit doesn't give me any joy though.
Surprising indeed but if there are teams that can beat France in the quarters or teams like Denmark and Czech (how they hell did they lose to japan?!) that can probably play better football than England or Spain, I'm thinkin that the world-wide football gap is becoming even closer. France for example probably have the most fancy line-up out there but granted as a team they have come short miserably to winning anything the past 2~3 years. Footie is a team sport and quite frankly i find it exciting to see which are proabbly the 5 best teams in the world getting knocked out early. On a side note, the level of Euro 2004 has failed to impress me. The three best teams in Europe are: Czech, Sweden, and Denmark. If Portugal wins....then they obviously bought the refs. goodbye.
This is like the worst Euro I've seen, all my favortie teams are all gone; France, England, Sweden, Italy, so boring, but HEY i guess this is how others felt when Korea beat all them Euro teams and the underdogs ruled the tournament. Yeah if so, I know how they felt now. =/
i would be laughing if Greece wins, LOL... I think Czech will win, Baros is scoring goals in crazy pace and is only behind Platini in most goals scored in entire tournament..Of course Nedved who imo is way better than Beckham also leading the way for the Czech...
DUDE, THE CZECHS GOT OWNED, Greece is in the finals. Scoreless until the end of the 1 half overtime, and the last minute the Czechs got owned!! I got a feeling Greece is going to win the Finals. They've already proved that could beat Portugal.
lol. Obviously not. Any team that focuses more on defense must be and should be punished. I'll let you go this time Portugal because you are the hosts! I was crossing my fingers for Nedved and his sidekicks to win this tourney but so sad good bye Nedved.
