The crowd noise was pretty lame

I was expecting a rocking stadium for this final considering that NE was in it. Compared to what I've experienced in Chicago, this was a let down.
Some things to note to be fair though:
    1) Gillette stadium is not good for loud crowds. It's not a bowl like most stadiums that can trap the sound. Imagine 2 sidelines of 3 tier stands facing each other with bleachers for end zones. If the end zones had 2nd, and 3rd tiers, the sound would be trapped much better. I was in the middle of the field section 1 and could barely hear the Fort section.
    2) The game during regulation was not too much to cheer about. If there was any type of real attacking soccer in the first half, I think the fans would have been rowdier. It was only towards the end that the teams really started attacking the goal. Once this happened, the crowd started to get into it, more random chants, more groaning, etc. Half way through the second half to the end of the game, it was stand up, sit down, stand up, sit down in my section.
    3) The NE fans don't seem as organized in their cheers. Other than Re-vou-lut-ion, clap, clap, clap-clap-clap there was the You Suck chant. That was it. Basically a one-trick-pony.

Watching the tape when I got home, it seemed that the video was much louder than what I heard at the stadium.

I think the NE crowd deserves kudos regardless, 61,316....has got to be worth something.

    Just my $.02

That's about as positive an article one can write without outright lying about MLS.....only facts that work in MLS's favor, and all positive spin. Few counter (negative) points.

Good for MLS. Although I don't think the article was totally balanced, MLS gets a lot of negative pieces written which are not balanced either. So turnabout is fair play, I suppose.

Writer sounded like a partisan Big Soccer member-g

It is a great article and they even have a soccer picture on the front page.

(Supermods, I cannot respond to your private message - due to the yellow card ?!? I think.)
