It'll be at the River Club on Wednesday from 4-7pm. It's open to all (ugh.) https://www.columbuscrew.com/gear-sale
That's exactly my first thought. My second: How early will the line start? 9am? 10am? I remember one year when a certain individual with a passion for jerseys was there the night before. It seemed to be a good thing when access was divided up into season ticket type (such as premium at 9am, full at 11am, partial at 1pm) and when they gave early access to Legacy Club members. Essentially letting general public in before people who've paid hundreds at minimum for tickets seems like someone dropped the ball. But it's back and we've missed it. Maybe they'll do it right next year.
I said this elsewhere, and will probably say it a lot today: There are a lot of things they're doing wrong here, and they'll learn - just like the other FOs before them did. But the fact that they heard the fans and brought back the gear sale is not to be overlooked, and someone somewhere down there in the Power Plant should get a little bit of credit.
Indeed. Benefits that cost nothing extra should always be considered. I think we all know that if the client can get a little extra for the same price, they'll be more likely to drop the cash. (How many premium seat holders are really gonna show up for Crew 2 games if those season tickets were included? Based on the numbers I saw when all season ticket holders got a free Crew 2 game, next to none. But it's still an extra bullet point on the list of benefits like when club seat holders had that dinner during the early years.) Praise be to Guillermo in the meantime.
Do they have those white hoodies the players wear at the shop ? I never saw them but man they were fire
Rant time and it's not directed at you. What I don't understand, and not just with this: Why isn't information passed down to future eras, generations, whatever you want to call them? Of course there's no obligation, but it'd definitely be the nice thing to do, especially when some employees are there to bridge the gap. I remember when the concessionaire changed and we were allowed cans because the newer vendor didn't get the memo. I think it lasted one game before we went back to cups. It's the same with the weather delays. "We don't know what worked in 2017 because we weren't there and we apparently don't have any experience with this, so we're just gonna keep 19k people in the dark." When the memo doesn't get passed along and when the new people in charge don't reach out to long-time members...that just doesn't seem right, ya know? It's a lot more professional when things get passed to the new leadership. It makes for a better experience. But it's back and they obviously have multiple years of stuff, so hopefully it doesn't all get picked over by eBay flippers there at 6am.
As a person in an undermanned and underfunded office with lots of turnover, stuff like this hits the backburner and doesn't really come off until the ship is either in order or under water and on fire. None of this happens when you're floating precariously as they were after covid. The crew ticket reps have to have easy jobs (at least for this year) and need something to occupy themselves or they're getting cut for being redundant. It's not something they value or really get how the fans value it. They'll see on Wednesday And you do this when the ship is on fire to keep your mind off of your own impending doom.
That makes sense. Nobody is gonna worry about the "small things" like a burned out lightbulb or getting someone their room service 45 minutes after Titanic hit ice or whatever the case is. Sometimes, ya gotta do what ya gotta do to keep things afloat. Indeed they will. In spades. What's the over/under on people in line at 3:59pm? If they're ready at 3:45pm, there'd be no harm in letting people in then. Uh-oh.
Shit I’m about to go buy some then after work ! Thanks the shop is still open during the week right ???
I called the team shop he said they sold out in 2 days and they never got more. I swear why wouldn’t you get more of something is popular. Calling Chris L, yo does the FO want to make money or not ???
It's made by a brand called Sportique. It's made to emulate the Off White brand that the players wear. I got it back in May. The columbussoccershop website said it was out, but I went in and found it. It was a team room only outfit for a bit. But if you called it's likely sold out.
Those scarves that resembled the 1998/99 yellow jerseys. I waited and waited and then was gonna buy one on discount at the end of the season, but they were long gone.
Meh, I'm stuck on a work call and it's too damn cold. Hopefully everyone who goes can get some good shit.
3:46pm. The line is now onto the plaza by the Circle of Honor. The first people got in line a bit after 1pm. I salute their dedication. One of them might have been @kgilbert78. If not, he has a lookalike. 4pm: The line is past the north wall of the stadium and they've begun letting people in. For those judging how many people they let in at once, I'm about 20 people from going in once the line stopped. 4:52pm: I left with nothing. They had a ton of socks a lot of us would have been about, but they're the 80s-style ones that go up the leg. Of course a lot of the jerseys and shirts were anywhere from medium on down. Someone could have spent $300 on two Taha Habrone jerseys...the "Doritos" and "Charlie Brown" jerseys. If you were expecting old logos...there were none. (TBF, when they said "prior seasons" there was some room for interpretation.) The $75 soccer balls were a variety from 2021 and newer and even some Nike balls from the Champions Cup. They even had some orange ones. I was tempted, but passed. When I left, the line was about to where I took the picture...a little closer to the doors.
Got there at 2:15. Could have waited a little longer. Even being 5th in line, a lot of folks got to jerseys before me. Wanted an Ocean Blue--some one beat me to it. Got a couple of jerseys, tho. Tried to get a hoodie for Mrs KG--the largest was a medium. Was told "they run large". We'll see. Got a couple warmups, a couple shorts, and a polo. $580 out the door. Socks were $15 for a six-pack--and they re cheaper at the outlet in Sunbury. Glad I got there early if only to snag a jersey. Almost ll were medium or smaller, but got a Quinton L. So one will fit.
