There may be some discussion to have over the purpose and impact of players taking the knee, but it is something the authorities have allowed and something some of the players and coaching staff want to participate in.

Those players and coaches will all have their own varying reasons for taking the knee, for example probably not just the origin and the events in the US, but for many of the England players will also be personal such as the racist abuse they have to suffer on social media and for others such as their colleagues will be the desire to show solidarity with them.

It is a bit like praying - you may or may not agree with or even know the specific reasons for somebody taking a course of action, but who in their right mind would boo someone praying? Similarly who in their right mind would boo somebody taking the knee. Huge lack of respect for your fellow human beings.

If nothing else, this continues to higlight an issue, not just from the action of taking the knee itself but from the reaction. Hopefully for example some of the politicians in the UK (not talking Farage - we all know what he is) will be held to account for some of their comments on this. If not now, then hopefully in the future.

There was an oped in one of the UK papers with some douche talking about why people are booing saying they don't have a problem with kneeling in general, the problem they have is with black lives matter. So they are opposed to the very thought that black lives should/could matter.
