    i'll bite...since you clearly are in a liberal echo-chamber
    has a team in place

    not fact.
on January 23rd: The WHO said this is not a global emergency and is not easily spread. End of January trump ignores WHO and listens to his pandemic response team and shuts down travel from china followed by Europe. Is called a Racist for doing so. Feb 24th: Pelosi tours china town in San Francisco without a mask. hmmmm

Federal government did exactly this and had stockpiles of most. Governors asked for certain things and were provided what was actually needed. The way it was set-up attempted to NOT allow states to stock pile what they didn't need. most governors (as is human nature) asked for much more than was actually ever going to be needed. If the system was set-up to allow 50 states to stock pile, we would have been in a VERY BAD SITUATION.

you clearly didn't ready - mass testing only works when you have a test that is accurate. once we had accurate tests developed, mass manufacturing could occur. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN POINTLESS to test with bad tests. How is this hard to understand?

    did this not occur?

you do realize him and his task force did this right?

whiplash usually came because of politics - couldn't give any credit to admin if you were from a different party.

I think if you look around this was done by the task force. understand we live in a republic. So did the governors all follow the advice? no. And admittedly it was usually the REPUBLICAN GOVERNORS in the south that didn't. I understand why- as their populations were put under a shutdown way to early.....so a lot of credibility was lost.

see above, but the task force did put out a reopening plan that had criteria set for advancing from phase to phase. ARE YOU REALLY NOW AWARE OF THIS?

An optimist might be rejoicing at the 1,837,000 people who were predicted to die in the USA but lived!

You're right, it is intellectually dishonest to put all of the deaths on Donald Trump. It really doesn't matter who is in office right now, people were going to die.

What isn't intellectually dishonest is criticizing the manner in which the president has dealt with this pandemic. He has been an incredibly inept and weak leader. He immediately made this into a political issue. He also offered plenty of bad advice and has ignored a lot of good advice. He promoted unproven theories. He downplayed the severity of the virus. There are just too many examples to list here in how he has bungled everything.

While there would still be need for caution, if Trump and his staff had some plan, direction, and managed things better, kids would be in class this fall and athletics would be contested. There would still be a need for a lot of caution but we, as a country, would be in a better place.

Thank you for acknowledging this fact! I think this is a healthy dialogue.

Yes, I will agree there are things we could have done better as a country in regards to handling this virus.

It's time that all of us stop and look around and stop blaming and having it be a political issue.

The proven things to help curb the virus is social distancing, masks, washing your hands etc.

We should not as a country be doing things which are counter to the above issues. This includes rallies, protests, concerts, crowds etc. It's not Ok for one side to call the other out for protests and then have rallies and vice versa. Just stop!

BOTH sides have been awful about this. Partisan politics are killing our country. I think ALL of us could agree that we ALL want the same thing. We want our lives to return to normal, the economy to open etc etc. Now the methods we believe will get us there are what we are disagreeing upon and that's ok.

This has taken a toll on everyone. We have elderly parents held hostage in assisted living centers, mental health is in a crisis, certain sectors of our economy will never recover. School will never be the same again.

Let's stop the blame because while you may disagree on certain things this administration did or didn't do, there are other things that were positive. One size doesn't fit all for our country. NYC is completely different and needed a different approach than Fargo, SD did. It was a balancing act.

Truth be told, no one had the answers and no one does and will ever know exactly what we should have done or didn't do.

Let's go forward not driven by politics but by doing the right things for our communities and families. Stay away from crowds and wash your hands! It's really that simple at the end of the day.
