Im starting to think James is so keen on winning Zidane over that he is picking up "knocks" around friendlies times to stay training

Edu Agurre reported today that James spoke to Quieroz and told him about his desire to spend that time training in Madrid.

He is obsessed with succeeding with the club.

Based on reports, it's a small knock, and every indication is he'll be ready for Saturday. Maybe precautionary. Bale was also rested midweek, played vs. Atletico, and rested again. Let's see what happens on Saturday.

Curent Real Madrid needs James more then Isco, his shooting, passing is needed now when we no longer have a goal machine.
However i dont think Zidane will play him ahead of his favourites Isco and probably Valverde,Modric(he is our best midfielder obviosly).....i hope im wrong and he have a big role atleast in La Liga but if Isco is fit.......

I am truly impressed with James' attitude and commitment this season.

In the past, his response to being maltreated by Zidane was to go to the NT and play extremely well and make comments. He used the NT team to make a statement

Now he says no to the NT to stay behind and impress his coach in training.

Sucks for me as a Colombia fan, but i respect his commitment

Just hope Zidane repays his attitude with a fair opportunity to succeed

Zidane has been fair to James.

It was the right decision to start Valverde.

That was a tactical decision. I have no problem with that call. I'm talking about moving forward now that everyone is healthy. I mean yeah James got a chance but there were only 3 midfielders so it was kind of forced.

Hope he gets a chance moving forward

    In two straight games ?
This is exactly what used to happen two years ago.. play well and then go to the bench and not get called up for CL games.
Fact is as soon as out roster options for midfield grew from 3 to 4/4+ James has hit the bench.

Was always about injuries and limited midfield options. He's back to bench material now.

I want to see more of James but closer to goal not in our own half so much, try something different , Jovic with James behind him, of course with ZZ, this will never happen

Zidane can try so many different things, instead he goes for LV.

Let me get this straight. James suffered a head injury about 10 days ago, played against Atletico in between but couldn't play against Brugge.

    Strange to say the least.

Zidane is being extremely cautious with him since James is his secret weapon and MVP this season. It is obvious he is saving him for the most important games and needs him to be 100% healthy..

I really hope James is actually hurt. It looks certifiable to pick the likes of Lucas over James if there is nothing wrong with him.

Any doubts should be clear by now.
Zidane does not count with James for any important games - nothing has changed in 2 yrs

    Glad he scored

    But in my opinion

He is a tough situation. He will remain a bench player and usually a super late one.

    Here is the reality

Players that should always play other than being rotated based on performance

    Benz
    Bale
    Casemiro
    Ramos
    Valverde
    Mendy

Now here are the players that will always play despite of performance...mind u This allows for some good showings since they can play themselves back into form

    Hazard
    Kroos
    Varane
    Modric (first sub it seems)

    Rotation players
    Vazquez
    Isco
    Jovic
    James
    Miltao

I think he is too good to be a rotation player. Barring some injuries, he is behind kroos, modric, and valverde in the midfield. He is behind Hazard, Bale, and maybe even Vazquez in attack.

So where does that leave him? As a fan of the club, glad to have such quality on the bench.

As a fan of the player. Sucks. Really don't see it working out for him here

Agreed more than likely that is the reality but IMO at no point should Benz and Gareth “always” play, I do believe James is a key to our creativity when attacking and adds balance to the team

Home games mid should be always have James as a starter because we'd have close to 70% possession in the majority of them and his ability to unlock a defense with a pass is unmatched in our current mid.

James should really be our 12th man. Always first sub off the bench with sprinkled starts when others are rested. He can play multiple positions and is one of our most talented players.

If he is gonna be ther 3rd sub. He should demand a transfer tbh
