RIP amigo. Hopefully we sell him and allow him to save his career elsewhere. Even if at Atletico

does this mean you think he won't be transferred there or that he'll be transferred there and never come off the bench?

i dont get the love this guy get from many Madrid fans.Never fit into the team with the exception of Ancelottis 4-4-2.

He is so slow, cant dribble, just a N10 with a good vision, unfortunately that position pretty much doesnt exist anymore.
There is a reason Zidane prefers Isco over him,Isco offers so much more.

    Meh

He was bad in the first half but so was everyone.

He was not on par physically but still did a decent job defending and running and got better as the game went on

We got the win and some key players were rested.

It's a win win for everyone

The first games Isco played when Zidane came back he was terrible.

James is never going to get a string of consecutive games like other players have in order to prove himself to Zidane so he must impress right away otherwise he’s got no chance.. Unfortunately that did not happen today so it is very difficult for Zidane to consider playing him again. We also must win every game so we need to field the best players from now on until the end of the season..

Some rust was expected. I think that he lacked confidence too, he had the chance for a couple of long passes that he didn't take because he hesitated too much.

He's in a rough spot, but Zidane needs to keep playing him because we simply don't have enough depth in midfield.

Probably the best perspective to have. Game to forget from him, but then again, he didn't play for quite a while even before the stoppage. Will need him to feature again at some point in the next 8 games, so he has to stay ready.

Just read on As James stating that he wanted to go to Atleti but RM blocked the deal after that 3-7 friendly. I just don't see him fitting in Cholo's system at all.

I don't know when he did the interview, but it's poor timing as usual from James. Can't keep his mouth shut for his own good.

It was an interview in Colombia. They asked him if it was true that Atletico wanted him and made an offer and he said yes, but that Madrid decided not to sell him to them.

Also said that he wasn't interested in Napoli and that he did turn Colombia down to try to make things work at Madrid.

I honestly can't wait to see James and Bale leaving the club once and for all. There's always been a sense of entitlement coming from them/their agents/their fans as if they were automatic starters.

The Colombian press has been the biggest problem. They keep attacking Zidane and making things worse. But the Colombian press as a whole is a joke. They kept attacking Pekerman who is the coach who has given us the most success.

There was no mention of atletico or the 7-3

In that same interview he said he never has had a problem with Zidane

He says he doesn't agree with people disrespecting Zidane

He said he thought he was going to another Spanisg club but that the club turned down the offer and that he thought he for sure would go there since he knew he was not going to play a role in Madrid this season. Once he wasn't sold, he stayed behind and didn't join his national team to try to impress the staff

I don't really see the problem with what he said. We all knew that this was the case

Sometimes it's best not to speak at all; all it does is create unnecessary noise.

It was a scrappy game and James at least put in a shift on defense.

Also the second goal came when he was able to recover a loose ball under pressure in tight space and switch the field.

Left sociedad completely off balance and allowed us to get numbers in position for the goal.

Look, James wasn't perfect in that game and rust was evident.

Did he do okay? I guess. He could have done better but confidence is hit. It's absolutely not physical related.

As mentioned before, he got game time and other key players were rested.

He will leave end of season anyway - likely destination is Italy.

Incredible how the years go by.

I’m a Porto fan and remember watching his breakthrough season with us under Andre Vilas-Boas and the undefeated season of 5 titles.

His first Madrid season was so long ago now: 2014-15 and he had a great year for us. Fast forward 5 years and his career has completely fallen off the tracks. What a sad story.

Zidane on James complaints only recent interviews:

"It doesn't bother me because he's telling the truth, he wants to play more and that's normal. I understand that. He's here, he's training and we're going to go on until the end like this."

Zidane is a class act, kept it 100% real how can someone be mad with the truth!?
