Since I foresee a series of spectacular Rolfe plays in MLS, I thought that now, 1 minute after he dribbled through pretty much the whole Dallas defense to set up a Barrett goal off Rolfe's shot rebound, I'd like to start documenting it. So, 10 minutes of MLS action, and Rolfe has already dribbled past, by my count 5 Dallas defenders in all (maybe 6), and set up a goal. Rolfe over Twellman for USMNT.
Re: The Chris Rolfe Watch Thread lots of ball watching and just flat out bad defending though. its the first game of the season. settle down beavis.
Re: The Chris Rolfe Watch Thread Hopefully nobody taping the Dallas v Chicago game to watch later clicked on this thread. This is also the wrong forum.
Re: The Chris Rolfe Watch Thread This is Chris Rolfe Watch Thread implying 'R' for results. Helluva an effort on the Chicago goal. Too bad the he didn't get a runnout as withdrawn forward in that Guat game.
Re: The Chris Rolfe Watch Thread i bet ol herc is somewhere missing this attention right now, thinking to himself. "what did i do wrong?"... its not you, herc...its not you.
Re: The Chris Rolfe Watch Thread I disagree. This thread needs to have an [R]. Some might think this is talking about Rolfe's Rolex or something.
Re: The Chris Rolfe Watch Thread I think the [R] rule is pretty stupid myself. However, this thread violates it. If you don't understand why, then you're the idiot.
Re: The Chris Rolfe Watch Thread Rolfe looked quite good today. He better at least get some pt for the Jamaica game. Give him a chance to impress.
Re: The Chris Rolfe Watch Thread if only he'd put away that third one, he'd be on the plane to germany. probably the easiest of the three plays too.
Re: The Chris Rolfe Watch Thread I don't think so either. Like Waldo said, in the last game (GUAT) he panicked. Not ready yet, even though I love the kid.
Re: The Chris Rolfe Watch Thread I don't know that I agree he panicked. I remember him doing pretty well that game, having good touches throughout and having the nifty assist on EJ's goal. It was a severly depleted US side that was completely disjointed, and Rolfe was having to play with his back to goal under tough field/weather conditions for most of the game, and I thought he coped well actually. So I disagree that he panicked. I didn't see EJ doing better than Rolfe that game outside the goal, and EJ is supposed to be able to play with his back to goal.
Re: The Chris Rolfe Watch Thread and than after you watch NE rev match tonight you will say, no i change my mind, twellman over Rolfe...make up your mind ..
Re: The Chris Rolfe Watch Thread He also disappeared for most of the match ... of course, he has Dave Sarachan as a coach ... eh, figurehead.
Re: The Chris Rolfe Watch Thread Ha. I assure you, that will not occur. As a matter of fact, I have never said Twellman belongs on the WC roster. I have said Rolfe does probably around 20 times in various posts. I hate Twellman, and I think he will completely bomb at the WC just like he does against any decent opponent, if he makes the roster. Rolfe, on the other hand, I think is likely to dribble through world class defenders and score or set up goals and surprise everyone, except me and the small Rolfe fan club on Big Soccer (and maybe the Fire coaching staff).
Re: The Chris Rolfe Watch Thread I thought Rolfe had a good performance today. I love the way he takes on defenders one v one, he is completely confident in that sense. Unlucky in his search for a second goal thought, that was close. Ive got a hunch bruce will bring him in for Jamaica. I wanna see Chris get one last dance to prove himself. Lest we not forget Chris Rolfe technically did score against guatamala....but err....brian ching....foul 15 yards away from the play....we know how that went.
