Apparently he played with the u19s at PSG today and did very well. Looks like the score ended 2-3 to PSG after 4 30min periods

They're signing Milan Iloski this week (though I think this is more with an eye towards replacing Uhre who is out of contract at the end of this season). Cavan is going to get sub appearances, no question. The Union's lineup is tough to crack. They are deep, and also have talented young players itching to get more time. They are also heading into the stretch run competing for the Supporters Shield (currently leading) and the MLS Cup Playoffs.

I don't see him starting a MLS Game this season unless the Union suddenly have an injury crisis in midfield. The 2026 season? Would not be shocked at all if he's starting semi-regularly.

He’s better than that 16 yr old from Mexico (imo) who started for Mexico vs us. I think he’s ready to start.

I only saw that kid once and was very impressed. Definitely some similarities to Cavan. Why are all skilled young players left footed these days? Anyway, Mora was basically playing a free role on a team that controlled possession for much of the game. If Cavan was on a team that tried to create out of possession instead of creating from the press, I think he would be starting by now. He's more skilled and has a higher IQ than anyone else in Philly, but those qualities aren't appreciated for their style of play. I do hope he plays a bigger part in the first team for the rest of the year, then I hope he leaves over the Winter.

I kind of hope he doesn't get too many minutes at his age so that he doesn't end up with a ton of injuries like a lot of our players who collected minutes at u17-u20. I know it's a great story but he needs to be a main cog at WC30 and for that needs to be healthy. He'll only be 19-20 so he will still be very young. I expect some advancements from those sports bras the players wear and the data they especially in regards to youngsters. I'm guessing they will start figuring out what stats lead to overuse injuries. I'm sure most of us are old enough to have heard horor stories about HS pitchers blowing out their arms when they were huge MLB prospects and now there are strict pitch counts.

I think if he’s getting regular minutes with Philly no need for him to go over at 16. But if he’s not he might as well go over to Europe (I imagine likely to Girona).

The benefit of MLS is if he can get regular first team minutes. To the extent that isn’t happening then he’s probably better just going off to Europe.

Agreed. might not be anywhere else he get minutes against grown men especially in a decent league. I would think he stays until he starts dominating. According to the coach it might be starting. Maybe MC told him something like that.

If he is on the Pulisic/Reyna track you’d expect him to debut at a club like Girona around 17, though we do have other examples of 16 year olds breaking through from other countries.

There might be no need but Philly isn't a city group club and the MLS season is over shortly after his 16th birthday. It really wouldn't shock me if he's at some city group club as soon as the Philly's season is over

Well I don’t think he can officially move till January. Also I assume it’s be Girona as the other options are the second division of France, Belgium, or Italy. And Girona has come back to earth a bit after their very good season so it shouldn’t be a level too far above him.

He's not a CFG player though.......... He can't join Man City until he is 18. I'd be surprised if he left Philly prior to Jan. 2027.

I think he'll play a fair amount for Philly during the rest of this season. Then play in the U-17 tournament. Then Camp Cupcake. Then show himself to be one of the best in MLS next season.
