It's cool. We'll just have Facebook put some more ads on everyone's phone in the rest of the country and we'll make that money back quick enough.
So with 77% of the vote counted, Newsom could end up with a higher vote share than the 2018 gubernatorial election. That's a pretty cool rejection of this nonsense recall and its Trumpian lead candidate. A more interesting recall election is of three San Francisco school board members who decided that trying to rename 40+ schools (including Lincoln and Diane Feinstein ffs...) was more important than spending time working out how to re-open schools.
That was some seriously stupid "take your eye off the ball" stuff there. And the fact that their "research" seemed to revolve around wikipedia articles made it even worse.
Elected school boards have a tendency this way. Most members see them as a stepping stone to a real political office.
I have all the patience in the world for what these poor school board members have to put up with. 1438606219430662144 is not a valid tweet id
Sounds to me like deep down somebody really wants it in the pooper. And I guess she's just a little too young for this.
The best part of this thread is how nate silver turned out to be wrong about the strategy of asking voters to just vote no and having no dem option on the ballot
Just to be clear, that's in Texas. Here in California, we start teaching anal sex in elementary school. (Since this is the California thread.)
Since I moved to Germany, i so got over the prudish anglo saxon stuff about nudity, sex etc which NZ also had. In hindsight, it's just strange.
My Californis HS sex ed class covered recreational aspects. But that was back in the day, maybe not today, in some ways society has become more prudish.
But... I have it on very good authority that Catholic girls start much too late. Was Billy Joel incorrect about that?
Gavin Newsom's sense of timing is comical to say the least. Yes, California is in a drought, and yes, we just had the second driest year on record, and yes, we do need to do something about it. But for him to announce the new drought emergency proclamation for the entire state... just as we are in the midst of torrential rains...just as flood warnings are also being announced... Well, nice going, Mr. Governor.
