Which means that Mediapro now has access to televise Real Madrid matches without having to pay a dime and that Sogecable will not have to up its offer. In other words, he missed a big opportunity.

Achilles was spot on...surely people could have seen that this candidate was just another galactico kind of guy? I'm not even comparing him to Perez, because Perez brought other things like economics and marketing to the table, where as Calderon just brought garbage. I supported Villar Mir, but unfortunately I have no say...and neither did many Socios. It really is bullsh*t...I hope that spanish court decision moves as fast as they can on this court decision.

OH WAIT, Why don't we just tell them it's actually a permit for a young Barcelona player to play in La Liga...a month after the deadline expired?

:D, aye AS was so pro Calderon it was not even funny but I dont see how so many people believed in him? I mean his claim of having those three players were imo more ridiculos than VM ( actuall not VM, Cadena Ser ) saying he had Wenger. I did not believe him before or after the elections. This whole thing is a ********ing mess and its going to be a while before it gets resovled. How embarassing. 177 million euros....all I can do is shake my head...tsk tsk tsk.

If socios and fans of Real Madrid get together and generate a large petition which points out the untruthful acts and facts about how Calderon is not even competent for the position and send it to the board of Real Madrid and the Spanish court to speed up the legal proceedings with the postal votes.

Calderon is a discrace for REAL MADRID !!

Dont know if this has been posted but Cesc played against Dinamo Zagreb last night. He had an oustanding performance and scored twice. He is now CupTied for the CL so i guess now we dont even need him, we couldnt have got him anyway. Nothing new, just another failed promise.

    well life goes on ...

but I seriously hope that we do not ahev to change Calderon midway through the season ... atleast let him remain the full season ... it will be too embarrasing ... how many presidents and caoches have we had in the last 2 years !!

and like somebody said ... this maybe the Sanz era .. good from the footy point but bad on the finances ... but I would take it anyway ... after the poor seasons we have had recently ... :)

I noticed that Ramon Calderon made some visits to some of the biggest companies in the world while he was in Seattle. Those visits included stops at Microsoft, Starbucks, and Boeing. Now perhaps he was just checking out those places since they are all headquartered in Seattle or was he going there to do business with these multinational companies? I certainly could see Real forming alliances with both Microsoft and Starbucks as part of their goal in expanding their brand in North America.

All Calderon has succeeded in doing so far is making a very powerful enemy in AC Milan. He lied out of his ass to get elected, damn lawyer!:D

Would you like that with beckham cream and Raul syrup? :p

Reminds me of the Real madrid theme park. I wanted to ride "the woody-coaster" but it was always broken

Don't be shocked if indeed Real do wind up partnering with these companies. Starbucks is slowly getting into the entertainment business. They started off first by sponsoring the movie, "Akelah and the Bee", and have their own music company, Hear Music. Now this doesn't necessarily mean anything but I have a feeling that President Calderon was not just here on vacation.

I seriously cannot believe that we were bashing Perez, FM and we end up wishing that they were still here instead of this lunatic.

Even though this might sound crazy, I'd say we give the man the benefit of the doubt for this season and see what happens. He might be full of hot air, but as long as we have Fabio Capello calling the shots, I don't think we'll have too much to worry about. Calderon should be more focused on building the brand of Real Madrid and forming alliances with multinational companies (generating more revenue) more so than going out and making promises he can't come through with.

I think if PEREZ lasted till the JUVE scandal, then he would have definitely signed Capello, and still we'd end up with all the players we bought and maybe more(KAKA).... :)

Yeah I heard about that too, it's going around that Bill Gates is interested in buying Real Madrid so that they can expand their brand name in North America. Also in the rumour mill it is being said that few of the Madridistas will keep their jobs within the team as Bill has said that he'd like to see atleast 8 American players on the team. Crazy stuff, I can't wait to hear more on the subject.

Update : It seems that if Real is sold, there's doubt that Capello will stay on as coach as it is being said that Bill prefers Bruce Arena.
