You rarely see a hockey game where the weaker team on the day wins. Seen it a lot more in soccer. After the first 8 minutes, when the US came out buzzing, they really didn't do much in the last 52 minutes aside from that double post that came out of nowhere. Probably because they scored so early and they tried to protect the lead for 50 minutes. Even here on sports talk radio people saying they were disappointed how the US played and expected more. Have to convert your chances. Canada have themselves to blame. When the other teams goalie is the best player in the game, it's telling. Handled the 5 on 3 PP wrong. Ref should have called a Too Many Men on the Ice against the US. Important non-call but probably wouldn't have scored anyways given how Hellebuyck was playing. Canada handled the OT wrong. Easily 4 mistakes made. Over reliance on the top line. Too many injuries and knowing what is known now, a few tweaks to the roster.
