It's never promising when we hire a manager our former manager beat.

PSV played really good against us, I was impressed. He may do a good job here, I just like that he's an attacking manager

Regardless, Conceicao and Porto will win again by bullying refs and having teams bend over for them. The only saving grace is the pleasure us and Sportinguistas get watching Porto get cucked in Europe. Unfortunately, when you are down a goal in europe, you dont automatically get penalties, red cards or 10 minutes of additional time

PSV never won the Eredivisie title with Schmidt in charge but Ajax have been head and shoulders above that league in terms of talent and depth for years. Fwiw he did guide them to win the Dutch cup this season though, and beat Ajax H2H in the finals. So at least he has that accomplishment

Benfica may have some big hurdles ahead though if key guys Darwin and Weigl get sold though

Check out the UEFA club coefficient. There's a reason why we are ahead of Sporting and Benfica.

Correct, because rigging the league for multiple years gets you automatic qualification into Europe. That's the entire point.

Maybe Benfica can sign Zach Hyman.

I mean, the guy can do anything.

In addition to Hyman, Edmonton also has Barrie & Ceci that are excelling.

Dubas has made the Toronto Maple Leafs a farmer team for the Edmonton Oilers.

He's bad but at least he knew not to let the Leafs rely on a 40 year old goaltender in the playoffs like our GM.

Kenny builds a cup contender but leaves a gaping hole in our most critical position.

He did the same thing in Detroit. Never learns.

I don't count Montreal beating Toronto in the playoffs last year or even making the cup final. I take what they did with a grain of salt.

Fans in the building make a huge phycological difference in sports, especially in playoffs. All sports should have been cancelled during the pandemic.

Been watching the euro u17s what a talented bunch of player we have, they made it to the semifinals and lost to a big physical talented French team 2-2 then we lost on pens. French made it 2-2 on a own goal by our centre back and they got lucky again when they hit the crossbar and ball comes down and hits our keeper on the back and goes in if it did not hit our keeper we would be playing Holland in the final.

I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight. This Oilers over-time loss has me waking up every 10 minutes to puke.

You guys need more than a goalie, but a goalie is a very good first step. Mind you the Oilers have needed a goalie for the past few years. I really don't know what the Oiler management has been doing for the past decade.

It's really just a goalie. Everything else is fine. Darnell Nurse has been playing with a torn hip flexor all playoffs so our defense wasn't the greatest.

4 or 5 goals should be enough to win you a hockey game. We score that much in alot of games and still can't win them.

It's because this guy lets the chicken get away too often.
