I'm sure no one really cares, but since someone posted about VCU earlier this season, and JMU played them today, I figured this was appropriate.

VCU tied George Mason on Friday nite 0-0, and beat JMU today 2-1 in what was probably one of JMU's best games of the season that I've seen.

Earlier this year someone asked how many of VCU's starting 11 were American-based players. The answer to that question would be 3. A few guys from Costa Rica, a couple of Romanians, a Yugoslavian, and a guy from the U.K. who scored both of VCU's goals today.

The Rams were a pretty dangerous team. Lotsa fouls, lotsa speed. They were also pretty pissed that they only beat us by one goal.

Also the game today marks the most F-bombs in one soccer game I have EVER heard, from both teams. One guy in the stands got ejected too, it was our homecoming weekend so best I figure these kids had probably been drunk since Thursday afternoon, and came and yelled and screamed the entire time until when right after VCU's second goal the referee called for him to be removed from the stands before he'd let the game resume. We're not so much used to that at JMU. Also our attendance was a whopping 264, as opposed to our usual 150 or so.

Anyway, I'm willing to wager that VCU will take the CAA title, if not them than George Mason.

    Any thoughts? Anyone? Please?

What's up with you guys? A few years ago you were considered a top conference, some even considere you second only to ACC. William&Mary, George Mason, and James Madison (sorry) seemed to have disappeared. Richmond, who a few years ago was on the rise has also disappeared. That leaves VCU as only team with national interest. Any ideas on what is going on?
