Screw that guy, I dont like him undermining my College Athletics authority -_-. Lol hehehe jk you raise great points m8.
Yeah. Very diverse fandom. I often permanently latch onto the first really compelling team I find in a league or sport when introduced to it. In this case, the Lakers. Yeah. I love Duke. Prospect Unfortunate that he ran a slow 40, but he plays much faster than that IMO, could be a steal if his stock drops because of that. Thanks. You as well.
Do you have a college team in either of the major sports? Did Barry Sanders compel you to like the Lions? And the late 80's Lakers?
No. Although I did have a recent fondness for Florida State because I liked Winston's game. My father was a Lions fan, and so that was passed down. Lakers was more early 2000s with Shaq and Kobe. I love(d) Shaq; just sheer physical dominance with a good passing eye and decent footwork.
Ugh, I liked Shaq, but I couldn't stand that team. I miss watching them play in those epics series with the Kings though. My favorite basketball post game rant:
I used to love watching the Portland trailblazers, kings, and lakers of that time period. Nba isn't the same to me anymore.
After experiencing the Jordan era, nothing is the same. I was basically a casual fan throughout the 2000s (watching mainly the playoffs and maybe a big regular season game here and there). Then when Gilbert Arenas came to the Wiz, he got me watching them again on a regular basis. I watch more basketball than I did in the 2000s, but still not the same way I did during the Jordan era. The 90s were gold.
And every time I try to get into it again now I just see players resting. The lgs just so soft, way more attitude in the 90s. Hood dudes are pretty much fazed out now. The 90s had those triple headers on nbc and it just seemed like it was so much better, I don't think it is nostalgia talking either.
I'm 100% guilty when it comes to being nostalgic. Serie A in its prime, Jordan era, Redskins were formidable until the mid 90s (lol), Brazil at the top of the world.....I had it good and I didn't know.
Hell yes its soft af, I've always said if LeBron played in the same era as Jordan, he'd be less dominant due to the fact that he wouldn't get by on his physicality and athleticism cuz mfkers would elbow nd doze that ass once you drove in the paint more than once. No fly zone with bigs like Admiral, Ewing, Malone, Mourning, Hakeem, etc. But what do I know. Lol, probably just my sick fantasy.
Or Lebron might be more dominant because he would be able to "elbow and doze" back and fully unleash his physicality, strength, and athleticism offensively. We'll never know.
Young Bron, maybe. LBJ has been showing some wear and tear as of late. He wasn't playing at his usual level until he was rested for 2 weeks or so this season. Not sure how his body would have reacted to that style in the 90s.
He's backed down to Dwight Howard's Orlando team in the playoffs. I don't see him being close to as dominant in the 90s.
So its a breezy 78 degrees in Baton Rouge after a stormy past couple of days. The practice fields are a little wet, but manageable for the most part at LSU. We're in just over a month of Spring practice, where in a weeks time it'll come to a close with the final scrimmage, Purple vs. Gold, open to the public. This before summer and Fall Camps kick off for Bayou Bengals. SEC is shaping up to be fun again, maybe not as brutal as last season, but definitely exciting. Auburn appear to be early favorites to win the conference with the eligibility of safety Tray Matthews under one of the best defensive coordinators in college, Will Muschamp, the return of #1 Wideout in the nation imo, Dhaquille Williams, and a stable of strong running backs headed by Jovon Robinson and Roc Thomas. The SEC looks to go through The Plains this year.
Jon Gruden "I like Mike Glennon personally" on who #Bucs should take at QB # 1 ...I might be nuts but I am not convinced TBB going QB at #1 Ok @MatthausSammer , come clean. You've been revealed.
Now I have another inside source on the Redskins. Chucky, can you tell me who Jay plans on taking at #5?
Skins have an interesting start to the season, but then it gets more difficult. We finish on the road for 3 of the last 4, including 2 divisional games.
The first 7 are all winnable and then you have a pretty good placed bye at week 8, I would be pleased.
