The Bottom Line on USOC Final Crowd

    Well, exactly. And does anyone realize that this paper's circulation is horrible??? They are the conservative paper of NYC, backed by various wealthy patrons in the city, just to get that voice out. They have been trying to gain market, by sending out thousands of free issues. I remember, last year at my house in Jersey, we got the Sun for a full week, without ever signing a form, or even asking for it.

    I'm not surprised.

    Obviously, I hope the attendance is terrific. But even if it is not, the crowd that shows up will be more intense than a Super Bowl crowd because they will be the real fans--of the Metros, or Fire, or U.S. soccer, or just soccer in general. Not the bunch that attends Super Bowls and has no real rooting interest in anything, wanting only to be at an "event."

    I think the MLS Cup should be at one of the home stadiums also, but that's another story. At least this is here. I hope the place is packed.
