So this is likely to be played behind closed doors right? I think that actually helps us. Same team that started against Atletico...too bad Alisson will miss this one too.
Doesn't look like it will matter - most likely the season will be postponed for a while as Arteta has it.
So quarantine the Arsenal and West Ham (most recent opponents) squad? Everyone else carries on behind closed doors?
Everton’s entire first team squad isolated. As I was saying in the Injury Thread, the best we can hope for now is that the season will be postponed, not cancelled. I suspect this season’s CL will be cancelled however.
Unconfirmed but likely rumor that season is postponed until April 4th. And we all know how well we play post a mid-season break!
Basically. Which means everyone will be far from match fit if the league resumed with, say, one week's proper training.
Its odd - I miss the celebration we were about to have ....( I was even thinking of a quick visit to Liverpool/Ireland in April..) but the football was pretty much done for us after Athletico this year. We could have slept to the title since before the Watford game..... the 100 points would have been nice, I suppose..... but maybe we will be playing in the summer. here's to that.... in the meantime, I suggest a daily 20 minute -40 minute dose of classic footie, be it liverpool, Brazil, Holland, France or whoever. It stokes the fire. .... I've done Cruyff, Berger and Brazil '82 .... think I'll revisit Michael Owen tonight .... The internet may be vile in many ways, but it really helps here ....
Sooooo .... what happened at that meeting yesterday to decide if the game will be played at Goodson or not? Can't find anything ....
Might as well put this here: Thursday 11 June 2020 Behind closed doors game at Anfield Liverpool 6 Blackburn Rovers 0 FT Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Milner; Keïta, Fabinho, Henderson (c); Minamino, Mané, Oxlade-Chamberlain. Scorers: Keïta Mané Minamino Matip Hoever Clarkson
Sadio Mane, Takumi Minamino, Naby Keita, Joel Matip, Ki-Jana Hoever and youngster Leighton Clarkson were on the score sheet for Jurgen Klopp's team. Roberto Firmino was given a run out in the second half, while Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson did not take part - Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is believed to have suffered an ankle injury during the game.
Keep reading on Twitter that Keita and Minamino were the stars in the friendly and both have been killing it since the return to training.
great to hear, but I'm always concerned about something I invented - the "Smicer Syndrome". this happens when a player does great in training, but disappears repeatedly in actual games leaving fans wondering how the hell he keeps getting picked. the cause is unknown but many people who post on here under the name SamScouse believe it has something to do with being very skilled but not being able to tolerate the pace / physicality of Prem games. you're welcome.
