This should be in the A-League forum, because Bishop will never be on an MLS side again.

I don't remember exactly what he said about MLS (didn't figure it was worth remembering), but assuming he said MLS sucks, then if he's looking to come back, he must, therefore, logically, suck himself.

He said MLS was equal to DIV 2 in England I think.

If he wasn't wanted a year ago, I doubt he will be wanted one year older. It could very well be Charleston or another A-League team. The Battery love signing former-decently big name players.

Would anybody care to comment on what skills he may have left? Also, how much would he go for? Or, how much would he want for a salary?

PS I'm not thinking for an MLS team.

    He can run his mouth

He goes for blondes. Oh, wait, Different question.

Seems he's not in a position to be too picky, huh?

He also said that MLS screwed him over after the dispersal draft, and that he would warn any player about playing in such an evil league.

Isn't this a classic case of a foreigner taking a job away from an American? Don't we have any citizens who can be blinkered, selfish, pouting whiners just as well as Bishop can?

If he could do that, I'm sure there are some film producers that be willing to pay him a lot more money than MLS could.

he also told the bbc that onandi lowe playing at rushden (d3 england) was the only good thing that we ever prduced in mls.

i guess he forgot about every american abroad that has played here, along with stern john and shaun bartlett.

Considering that he (as per the above linked article on planetsoccer.com) couldn't keep a place in Rochdale's lineup, one would suspect Mr Bishop has very little left to offer.

As much as I enjoyed watching Bishop when he was part of that Fusion magic, I just can't see that he can have anything left if he can't even hold a position in Rochdale down. I find it hard to believe that any American team, let alone two, would go to the expense of flying him here.

In fairness, I would have looked halfway decent playing defensive midfielder for that team.

Here's the dirty little secret most of you don't want to admit....he was the engine, along with APChacon, that drove that team in Miami. I had the pleasure of watching him operate that team in 2001. You want to devalue him. It elevates the remaining 10 teams in the league to say that the old man can no longer and didn't cut it when he was here. O contrare, mi amigos.... It hurts/embarrasses some that he could come back here and be that 10-shirt for a number of MLS clubs.

Have a nice day. This was stimulating conversation.

What a waste of a post...that was 2 years ago.

Players deteriorate in 2 years...Easily...Nowak, Stoichkov...all players past their prime but they never talked about how they were "cheated."

    Ante Rasov?

If he's still got as much left in the tank as APC showed last year, any of the 9 MLS teams outside of New England are more than welcome to sign him.

Come on Tim, you honestly believe APC went from league MVP to loser in one year? Maybe Ray Hudson was just better able to put him into a situation where he could thrive.

I don't pretend to know much about Nicol or what happened last year (don't follow the league nearly as much since contraction), but he's got a lot of quality soccer left in him. Maybe NE isn't the place for him.
