Since Bigsoccer posters seem to be the AP voters to the FIFA rankings Sagarin system, why not go ahead and come up with our own rankings? Please post your rankings for the top 50 teams in the world. Please feel free to use any system you like and to take as little or as much time as you like, but please avoid trolling of the following sort: --Not including any team that made the previous WC (well, maybe China and Saudi Arabia) in your top 50. --Not placing any team that made the knockout stages of the previous WC in the top 35 of your rankings. --Overtly favoring your home team or region (aka--placing all European teams in the top 20, except Brazil and Argentina, or placing the USA at number one.) --Overtly opposing a region that particularly annoys you (aka--no Asian teams in the top 25, no CONCACAF teams in the top 20, no UEFA sides in the top 10, etc.) On October 1st, I'll ad up the non-trolling votes and we will have the first ever Bigsoccer world rankings (Fall 2002). If this goes well, maybe we can do it again every three months or so--a new ranking for every new season. Enjoy!

I wish to register a complaint! Hey Photar, are we allowed to critique some of these rankings? A few seem to have a decidedly anit-Nordic bias.
Re: I wish to register a complaint! I was sure I was going to be criticized for ranking Korea at #31 given that Photar inexplicably gave them a #6 and others are sure of the top 20. Geez, they hosted a cup and got two gift victories. Korea must make the second round in 2006 to be in the top #15. I'm glad you posted to serious rankings which pretty much agree with me on Korea. More interestingly, there can be a real good case for 4 Concacaf spots now. Awesome! anti-Nordic? Well, at least not mine. I think I've got them all ranked pretty well, but I'll give it another look. Either you spend hours on this or you make a ton of mistakes. I admit putting USA so high is a bit much, but, heck, if FIFA does it, I may as well!
Re: Re: I wish to register a complaint! To make room for the Canadians you snubbed the Norway. Granted, our WC 2002 qualifying campaign was a disaster, but we did manage to get into Euro2000. It must be our mind numbingly dull tactics that make many overlook us.

But I should have had Norway in there, though their WCQ was an unmitigated disaster. I didn't even realize that I didn't. To be honest, I killed off a few teams when noticing that I left a few ones out and often the ones killed happened to be the number where I thought the more deserving ones belonged. I tried to correct things as much as possible without spending many minutes renumbering.

Yes maybe Brazil, Germany however played no hard teams untill they got to the final. The hardest team they played was against the Irish and they were lucky to get a point. without Kahn they would be even worse. I mean England stuffed them 5-1 in qualifying and they were a joke. They have no world class players. dont get me wrong they have improved but are maybes only 10th best at the most. England had the capeabilities of beating brazil if they never scored a fluke goal. However we totally underperformed that game.
