Macrone isnt to bad either, but he hasnt had that long to prove himself. He would be my bet as someone that will be talking about for a few more years barring an injury or return to Italy, Alan Smith looks promising as well as Defoe for possible future stars.

I'd say Henry and then Owen (in normal mode, he can't hit anything right now).

    Woo-hooo!!!!

Seriously, Henry, Shearer and Van are obvious names to throw in there. I'd throw new boy Clint Morrison in there as one who will show himself to be top class. The same with Milan Baros.

Henry, hands down. Of course, I'm an Arsenal fan, so what else am I going to say?
I don't really care for van Nist. -- he's always diving and trying to get a PK or card. Plus he's just a pure scorer! Henry is more versitile and a better playmaker, in addition to being a better striker.

Well, if we're going on how they're performing NOW, then I'd say Henry. If we're going on past performance as well, then it's Fowler, hands down.

Agreed. But if people are throwing in Macrone and Clinton Morrison, then I think we can add in Baros.

Henry and Alan Smith are the best two right now.

As much as I hate him, Wiltord is up there on current form...

No way, there's nobody out there who's coming close to what Henry is doing at the moment. He's get the lot.

    My top 10 would be:

    Thierry Henry
    Ruud Van Nistelrooy
    Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink
    Michael Owen
    Alan Shearer
    Eidur Gujohnssen
    Ole Gunnar Solksjaer
    Niclas Anelka
    Massimo Maccarone
    Gianfranco Zola/Dennis Bergkamp

    Other possible outsiders:
Robbie Fowler, El Hadji Diouf, Milan Baros, Jermaine Defoe, Alan Smith, Mark Viduka, Craig Bellamy, Tomas Radzinski, Robbie Keane

    1. T. Henry
    2. R. van Nistelrooy
    3. M. Owen

Henry is playing the best of the lot at the moment. Not only is he scoring goals, but his touch, link-up play, dribbling and shooting are all there right now. He's always had great power and pace, but last season and this he's really blossomed into a good finisher too.

Thierry Henry is way ahead of everyone else. I cannot believe people think Michael Owen is a top striker. He is very lucky, he gets a lot more chances than most strikers because he plays for a good team. His finishing is usually poor and has been for 2 years he would not get into a Premiership team if he he was not so quick. I would
also not regard Van Nistelrooy as a super striker, hes good but not fantastic, with the quality in the Man United midfield he should have scored a lot more this season. I know he scored a lot last year but I believe that Solskjaer is Man United best striker. The other who I belive are of top quality are Shearer, Bergkamp, Hasselbaink, Zola (so far this season), Bellamy, Wiltord and Anelka. I also belive Maccarone will be another of the top strikers however has not played enough games yet to bacome a top striker.
Other good strikers are Jansen, Cole, Gudjohnsen, Fowler, Viduka, Diouf, Di Canio, Sheringham and keane.

I cant believe you named 20 strikers and omitted Sylvain Wiltord. Right this moment, he IS the best striker in the premiership. Only Henry has a case against that.

The reason i left Wiltord out is because he's scored the majority of his goals from wide right of the midfield, just as Ljunberg done last season.

Depends on how you want to look at it i suppose.

On current form, after a mighty half dozen games i might add, i can see how most of the posters took Henry, but to completly leave Hasselbaink out shows lack of knowledge of previous seasons.

At the end of the season the top 6 will be....

    1.Henry
    2.Hasselbaink
    3.Anelka
    4.RVN
    5.Gudjohnsen
    6.Shearer

Pity Fowler won't get the starts he deserves as he would most likely be top three.

LOL! I love this sort of stuff. The ignorance is breathtaking. It is truly a marvel to behold.

Michael Owen has scored 112 goals for Liverpool in 211 games. He has scored goals against every level of opposition, from Hull City to Brazil. He scores with his right, with his left, with his head, he is a machine. If Liverpool chose to sell him, the line of clubs representatives queuing up with their chequebooks would stretch to the Wirral.

“He’s just quick”? Jesus Christ. Yeah, his finishing, movement, anticipation and control all suck. And anyway, running at that speed makes doing anything additional with a ball so easy, it’s entirely unremarkable. Anyone could do it. He’s just quick, that’s all. Crap player, really.

    Fucking shitwit .
