When I see those terrific Barra Brava and Screaming Eagles shots, it really makes me wish that Giants Stadium would let Metro fans bring flags, confetti and streamers to games. Thank goodness we're getting Harrison, so we'll finally be allowed to create some kind of soccer atmosphere. Guys from ESC were thrown out of the England/Colombia doubleheader for throwing streamers when goals were scored.

Christian Gomez, in the middle of the Barra Brava, banging on the drum and cheering on his team to victory - it doesn't get any better than that.....anywhere.......any time. period.

See that's the kind of mentality that keeps you from growing. The Barra puts everything we have into growing our group. Tailgates, fundraisers, sponsoring rock bands, taking pics and keeping our website fresh and interesting. We'll do anything and everything it takes to make our supporter section strong and loud which in turn benefits the team. La Barra has ALWAYS been about supporting DC United since 1995. If you don't think outside the box you'll end up with.....uh what you have right now.

I'll see your Gomez and raise you one PW throwing a bottle of beer at me shortly after ripping a Rancid pin off someone's jacket.

(not that you don't make a good point though about a very excellent happening)

It's not our fault that fans in the greater Boston area don't support the Revs. Maybe you need to have some Taylor "Teabag" Twellman glamor shots.

    :)

    Huh?

As BBBulldog noted, he slept through the entire game. It was the first time he slept for a long period without screaming his head off.

I am just sorry that it was a nght game, so I could not bring my older son. He might have gotten a little scared at first of the noise, but at the US-England game, he started yelling at the ref, clapping and cheering.

While I am not going to kid myself by saying the Rapids have one of the top supporters sections, I think the new Rocky Mountain Cup is very nice. Did everyone get to see it?

It is approximatly 30 inches tall. The inscription says:
"Bring me men to match my mountains
Bring me men to match my plains
Men with empires in their purpose
and new eras in their brains."
    -Sam Walter Foss

I believe the base will have the winning team's name engraved.

Any pictures from Section 8 and the Peter Wilt visuals we were all promised?

(Couldn't make it to the game, but you looked and sounded good on tv)

Thank you for flattering us by showing that our supporters' section was larger than yours. That was quite sportsmanlike of you.

It was a home game for you. You're supposed to have more people in your supporters group than the away team. The fact that it was even close should be a massive embarrassment to you.

There is an equivalent (The Fort, Midnight Riders, Rev Army), but the numbers, group demographic, stadium situation, and relationship with the front office are considerably different that what Section 8 enjoys in Chicago, or Barra Brava and the Screaming Eagles enjoy in DC.

If people want to post their photos here, and or otherwise show off how strong their support is, then so be it.

And your intimate knowledge of supporters efforts in New England comes from... ?

I always felt that New England's 1996 fan support was as good as anyone's. Pity that management couldn't hold it together.

We can all dream of Nomar and Mia buying the team, right?

If Nomar bought the team, he'd have to sign himself, and then trade himself to the Fire for the Revs to win a championship.

No there isn't. I've been to a ton of Revs games, you guys don't have numbers, you are quiet for most of the game. ESC also used to have massive numbers, but I'm sure you would like to compare your front office situation to ours..wouldn't you (not that I'm part of ESC)?

If you had S8 or BB numbers, we wouldn't stop hearing how good the Fort is.
