I agree. Of all the players I dont want to lose, its Javi. We dont have a replacement for him thats ready to step up now and contribute like he did. Besides Saviola he was probably the most instrumental signing of the year. He completely shut down the DM position for us.

yea javi is better, but airton everytime he played filled his shoes and we didnt' miss javi at all.
unlike the other winter signings. eder luis still can't fill saviolas shoes. and kardec the same with cardozo.

Gaitan reported on record, abola and jogo websites. Looking like a likely move.

Eduardo wants to go to Benfica and work with Jorge Jesus again.

My thoughts exactly. Although it will be difficult to find someone like Cardozo again. We already have a player similar to Di Maria.

100 million for both is completely BS. I value Di Maria 20-25 million and Cardozo 10-15 million.

Yeah, right. Maybe 10 years ago, but no way would a striker, with his return (regardless of whether he's crappy or not, which I think he is), go for less than 20, especially since we paid 11 for him.

Cardozo is a good striker that has also benefited from playing for a team that creates many scoring opportunities. I think too much credit has been given to him and not enough to those that are setting him up. I think the key for us is to keep the players that are creating the chances more so than the one that was finishing them. I wonder how many goals Falcao would have if he played for Benfica this year with the amount off opportunities we create. I think Benfica will be able to find a solid striker.

off course the 100 million for those 2 players is just BS. they just sayin that because cardozo got a clause of 60M and di maria 40M = 100M
but benfica can easily get around 60 to 70 million for them.
DI MARIA is going to be sold for about 35/40 million easy.
cardozo will be sold for around +/- 25 million.

benfica already got franco JARA. smaller foward than cardozo. is more of a tevez/falcao type of foward.

but if benfica sell cardozo i would like benfica to go after another BIG FOWARD and i would like that benfica to go after BOGHOSSIAN (22 years old, Height 1.97 m)from newels, cardozo's ex-team. if not BOSELLI from estudiantes is also really good, but not as tall.

Pablo Zeballos is very good, he's no Cardozo tho. But he is defenently more agile.

With Cardozo good as gone, Maku sold last week, Nuno most likely retired and Weldons contract expiring at the end of this season, we need strikers. That leaves us with what, Saviola, Eder, Kardec. We'll get Jara. I hope to renew Weldon's contract. I'll be ore than happy to have Weldon and Saviola starting next season. I want to see Jara in action.
