AC Milan want Katsouranis on loan forthe rest of the season but Benfica's SAD won't allow it. Good decision. Benfica are in 1st place and trying to win the league. AC MIlan are will never win the league this year. They are in 4th or 5th place since I saw last week. Way to far behind Inter and Juve.

And apparently, Benfica are not signing anyone this January.

    That's dissapointing.

With our team trying to find chemistry still I don't think its a great to be adding even more players to the team although we should sign an RB and a RW

As long as Ruben Amorim is RW, we need a new one no matter what the situation with the chemistry is. Unless Balboa becomes a starter. Or Aimar takes that position.

As for RB, we don't need to get one right now. Maxi is playing better than I ever expeted him to play as RB. He's contributing alot more as RB and he ever was last year as RM.

I agree on Maxi. He has played very well this season. A pleasant surprise no doubt. Benfica don't have a backup for him however, so if they can get a decent RB just to backup Maxi it wouldn't be a bad move.

Keeping Luisao until the end of the season is important. However after that it wouldn't be a huge loss as long as we bought a proper replacement. Why? Luisao's been here a long time, and he will probably be getting impacient at the summer. Also his defending isn't what is was before all the big injuries. For a replacement we should get a very experienced defender. For example someone like Meira (and if not him there are others if you look at the right places). The problem when Luisao isn't playing is that our backups are U21 players. Sidnei, Miguel Vitor, and David Luiz are still learning and naturally will make some mistakes, which I'm sure you all saw in some of the games Luisao was out.

Katsouranis is the same. He's being professional lately, but he still wants to go. We just need to get someone experienced.

Also Di Maria can go if 20 million is actually being offered. He's not even first team and he doesn't look motivated.

I think he will be gone this summer, which will be a shame. But he has served us well.

Yeah, he's definately gone come the summer. I agree, he has served us well. Has been a great defensive leader and has scored some very nice, important goals in the past for Benfica. (memorable goals against Sporting to help Benfica become champions in 04/05 and who can forget the goal against Liverpool in the final minutes)

Quique has stated no one is leaving nor coming this transfer season. Gues that means Di Maria isn't going anywhere. Thats good news. Di Maria has the rest of the season to shine and prove himself.

Well with all do respect, he is handling the situation a lot better than Karagounis did... but I still hope he gives Benfica is best until he leaves.

Well if this rumour is true, Benfica better accept him. He would be a great pick up, especially if Benfica want to become Champions and do well in the CL next season.

Thats not good at and to make matters worse we might be losing Suazo in month. Inter want Michael Owen and Mourinho want to include Suazo in the negotation. Both record and abola are reporting this. Not a good start to the new year for Benfica.

    http://www.record.pt/noticia.asp?id=817699&idCanal=11

Plus goal.com is reporting Aston Villa and Everton are interested in Suazo as well.

However, Benfica have signed a 18 year old Ishmael Yartey from Ghana for 4 years. They call him the "Ryan Giggs of Ghana".

Tottenham want to get rid of Ricardo Rocha. Maybe we should consider getting him back since so many clubs want Luisao.

I find the Michael Owen to Inter talk hard to believe.

"I never thought of him," Mourinho said. "Over the last year he has had lots of major injuries and now he is not the Owen we knew."

Question on Suazo. As I believe, he joined Benfica on a full season loan. So if he leaves mid-way through the season, does Benfica get any compensation?

If the deal is a full time loan, then I do not even think he can be thrown into any deals without Benfica accepting to the terms. So there would have to be some sort of compensation, as a contract would be breached.

This is what I thought as well. But amid all this speculation, there are never mentions of such things within articles. Nothing like some facts to interfere with a good story I suppose.
