First things first, I don't know who did it. It came from behind me.

I will say, as I tried to say last night, that it was WRONG. There is no excuse for it. I understand passion. I understand emotion. But that does not condone any action that jeopardizes the existence of The Cauldron.

There haven't been any hard rules about standing in The Cauldron. But the following have been understood as Cauldron guidelines.

    1. Respect others choice to stand during the entire match.

    2. Make noise.

    3. Wear blue.

    4. Never throw anything onto the field or into the tunnel.

The only thing we throw is confetti, and we only do it within our section.

Again I don't know who threw the beer. That person may not even be reading this. But somebody saw the incident. Somebody knows who did it. And it is very likely that witnesses are feigning ignorance, and forming a wall of silence. I can understand not wanting to rat someone out.

But what I don't understand is the person who did it. Obviously by throwing the beer, the person was saying something. What, I don't know. But at that moment, the person in question obviously felt it was important enough to do. So my question is, if it was that f*ing important to do, why don't you feel it is important enough to own up to your action?

Again, that person may not be reading this. But there are enough denizens of The Cauldron that post here, that I'm willing to bet that someone reading this saw that person. So if you saw the person who did this, please communicate to that person that this behavior is ALWAYS UNACCEPTABLE. No rationale or excuse allows for this to occur. If that person still feels otherwise, then that person should not be in The Cauldron. Throw beer from some other section if you must. Because we get guilt by association.

Furthermore, we are seen as uncooperative through our wall of silence. We are condoning that behavior by our silence. That does make us guilty, and that will tie the hands of any friends we may have in the front office.

If so, would that make it right?

Or maybe just "less wrong"? ;)

(And I think KC Salty is talking about a beershower on Cobi during a late-game corner kick...)

Yeah, Jones got it directly. Say what you will regarding the ethics of it; from a technical view, it was a soundly delivered direct hit. Correct arc angle and everything. I'll add this, it's incredibly stupid to pay that much for a beer only to abuse it by turning it into a projectile.

Have the central americans taught us nothing? You drink your beer and bring in a Ziplock baggie or a water balloon to fill with whatever. Then you throw it. C'mon people, get with the program.

I didn't see who threw it but it did come from the side farthest from the tunnel- not that that helps much.

Its a shame that this happened because the guy in the row behind me started to talk smack on the cauldron, saying how you guys will never calm down etc. If I saw correctly when it happened everybody turned around looking for who did it and they looked quite mad, that shows you guys had nothing to do with it. Thats a good thing, I just wish everybody else knew it wasnt the cauldron as a whole who did it.

    Congratulations on dousing Jones.

You guys are beginning to get kind of a feisty crowd going there in Arrowhead. I can see why with some of the exciting games the Wizards are having this year. Maybe if beering the opposing players is over the top, you might consider a streaker? Just trying to help.

After the chucked beverage there was a guy across the tunnel that was overly-vocal about punting the offender. It was almost as if his life was so powerless and empty that he couldn't help himself. After listening to him for too long I engaged him. I told him that if he wanted to spend that much energy yelling about the beer thing, then he was capable of expending the same level of energy in cheering for the game and the great play that just happened in front of him. He got my point, but I wasn't well received.

Please don't let this thread be hijacked into a "Ha Ha Cobi got a beer shower" thread. Save that for the rivalries forum.

This is a serious matter, that The Cauldron needs to address.

From my memory, the guy who dumped the beer on Serna owned up to it.

I hope this stupidity doesn't get the Cauldron shut down. Can you imagine someone showing up at your job - be it Taco Bell or Ernst & Young - and tossing a beer on you?

Kevin, have you talked to Curt, yet?

My only comment is, no matter what is thrown, you never know what the consequence might be. It's a long shot, but what if Cobi had suffered an eye injury? How funny would that have been?

Put the shoe on the other foot.

Let's say that Cobi dribbled the ball out of bounds and pissed off at himself, just booted the ball into the stands. The ball strikes a little kid in the side of the head and injures him. Would Cobi be justified for kicking the ball out of frustration into the stands because it's the opposing team's fans? No way, he has to take responsibility for doing something stupid....

Your beer in Arrowhead must be a lot cheaper than the beer at Seahawks Stadium, where no one but maybe Bill Gates has the kind of budget to throw beer.

Too late. Leave it to Seagroves to inject some class into the proceedings.

Seriously, who brought up the eye injury? When was the last time liquid from behind injured an eye? Ball's on the tee for you Mike.

Yeah take a tip from the Mexicans just fill a plastic bag with urin and then throw it on the players. Cobi has had that done to him a few times before.

I did. Do you wear contacts by chance? Try splashing some beer in your eye with contacts. You're going to be in a world of hurt for a while....

One guy from the Cauldron was taken away by security. I don't know what his name is. Whoever he blonde guy with painted nails is.

My friend that I was sitting with have an idea of what may have happened, but we aren't certain. The blonde guy and some kid sitting behind us in the section next to the cauldron were arguing most of the game. The kid was upset about the chants, and the blonde guy yelled back "Kid, I will not go out with you, stop staring at me. Stick with your boyfriend." That was before the beer was thrown. I thought the beer was thrown more from the middle of the section, but I only saw all of this out of the corner of my eye. The little kid he was arguing with was gone very soon after the beer was thrown, and then the blonde guy was questioned and then taken away.

I don't know if all of that made sense or comes together, but it was just a quick idea.

Why waste beer on Cobi??? Ruiz is the only one worth it, but I still wouldn't ever do it. It's just mean not matter how much of an *** he is.

Were you wearing a royals jersey? That guy was sitting behind me talking BS the whole night. He was acting as if the cauldron as a whole threw the beer and was saying how you guys will never calm down etc. Im like your a dumbass when the beer was thrown everybody was quite surprised, chill.

I swear Chris Cornell wrote the song Jesus Christ Pose just for you. Real martyrs don't have to consistently call attention to their "oppression"

Hey now don't get so upset. Never heard the song is it any good?

Real martyrs don't have to consistently call attention to their "oppression" hmm well if that’s the case then do fake martyrs need their lies consistently called attention to? Doesn’t it go both ways?

I know who did it, but you're crazy if you think i'm going to rat out someone over a sillly little incident. yes it's bad for the cauldron. yes it will make cooperation form the front office a little strained. no it will not jeopardize the cauldron. something like this happens at least once a year, and while that's probably once too often, it's not like we're the fvcking ultras or anything. In any case, the person in question knows what they did, knows the consequences, and just got a little rowdy. It's bound to happen now and again. We're not angels.

Furthermore, the blonde guy (who I've met but whose name escapes me right now) did not throw anything, and I don't know why he got kicked out.

I know of the guy who was whining...he said something along the line of "this happens every game" which is utter garbage and he knows it. But he sits as close to the cauldron in GA as possible every game so he must enjoy the atmosphere (i don't think he's one of the autograph guys). The sight lines there suck.

Lastly, the serna incident is completly different. Everyone saw it happen as it happened, including the security who promply led the perpetrator away. And he deserved it for sucker punching Nick Garcia.
