Four Referees in the Field?? In a recent International Congress of Referees, Carlos Ortiz of Concacaf said that there are talks of having four assistant referees, one on each side of the field to help the Center Referee control the game. A smart chip might be placed in the soccer ball as well, they don't want to stop the game to review the tape like the NFL or anything like that. but they want to have more control of the fouls. http://www.mediotiempo.com/noticia.php?id_noticia=46160 What say you.
boo. they can't find 4 quality refs per game in mls as it is and they want to find a 5th & 6th one! no way. instead spend money for more training and making the current referee pool more professional. the FMF system is pretty good and i wish MLS would do some research. (they may have already done so).
Better Refs might work but I actually like the idea of having more eyes on the field so the Center Ref. wouldn't have to chase the play back and forth.
I think they should just use the honor system. The players know best what happens anyway so we may as well let them call fouls, the refs just get in the way.
But who's going to pay medical bills for all the jaws that have to be surgically reattached after la pescadita calls a foul on himself.

The Bandido Report's "I hate Soccer" entries: #1 I hate soccer because people die overseas in quite a few of their games. I understand being passionate about your country and sport, but too many times the line is crossed and thousands of innocent people are injured sometimes killed because of a some die-hard fans. Don’t get me wrong soccer isn’t the only sport where this happens but it happens too much. Please take a look at the following link to understand where I am coming from. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/soccer/story/2007/02/02/italy-soccer-riot.html #2 I love Soccer........can I still have the tickets
#3 Do I hate soccer?? No! But by the end of the game I hate the way my body feels! my throat hurts; my legs hurt; and most of all I can stand the up and down the side lines that I have done in the past with my kids! Need to see a adult game to tell if I really hate or like soccer! Besides it is inside too I think? Right? It is usually either too hot or too cold. I have never been to a professional game.
#4 I personally hate soccer because my husband watches it all the time… im not talking about just when dynamo play I mean hes on the fsc channel all the time… I hate soccer also because I don’t understand it, my husband is a hard core fan and has tried to explain it but maybe im just “soccer illiterate”… He says that there is nothing like watching a soccer game live but I personally don’t see why I would enjoy it…. I just don’t get it…
I'm running a contest at my office like the 790 "I hate soccer" one Which one catches your fancy so far??
