É a impunidade. A lentidão do sistema judiciário. Enfim...

Yep V PARK...in Brazil the criminal can get away literally with murder...the politicians do nothing about it other that talk and in 1 week all this will be forgotten and they will move on to the World Cup. Its what I just dont get about Brazil.

I agree, but this isn't the problem in just Brasil, it happens all over South America.

Yes... It's revolting the current situation of Brasil. Violence, corruption... I can't believe Brasilians forget this things... Forget the corruption of some politicians and vote in him again!! Forget the violence against people... It's disgusting...

Its a shame, and where are all those Human rights groups now ? Every time a bandit gets killed they flock to the press by the 100's and denounce how the poor little soul got murdered by the police !!! The criminals have noticed this and taken full advantage of it.

And that is not relevant. Just because our "hermano" nations suffer from similarly corrupt and inept leaders, it doesn't make it right that Brazil suffers as well.

I remember talking so often to middle-class Brazilians when I lived there a few years ago. We would get so repeatedly exhausted by the corruption and ineptitude. One case was that mentally disturbed young man who shot several people at that movie theater in that mall. I think it was 1999.

They showed a relative of one of the victims; the lady said, without tears... "until when will impunity reign? Will we see justice or will the famous "jeitinho brasileiro" have its way again?"

A friend of mine is in law enforcement in Brazil. He has told me how often the criminals he has seen arrested act like little angels and deny any wrongdoing once under custody; let them loose, however, and they'll rape your daughter and slit your throat for a few reais.

The problem with Brazil is that there are hundreds of incredibly wonderful qualities, but the handful of problems are big that they always weigh in the back of your head.

Don't get me wrong. I love Brazil, and have a series of fantastic memories from the time I lived there. But when I read about these things... the kidnappings aiming schoolchildren... it's hard for me to want to raise a family there. If I could live in a city in the interior, I imagine life would be far more pleasant and less stressful. But if it was a city like Sao Paulo or RJ, then probably not.

E agora? O que o governo vai fazer? Nunca vivi uma situação dessas. Parece aquela cena do filme "Guerra dos Mundos"(War of the Worlds). Muito carro na rua. Muito desespero para chegar em casa. E os bandidos? Soltos. Aterrorizando a cidade.

Read about it in the Newspaper both today and yesturday. Do you guys believe that it was planned out before hand, so that the attacks could happen at once and jointly?

Absolutely. Even if impromptu follow-up attacks resulted from the psychological effect desired from the first wave, a large network would plan this in advance. I can't see this as coincidental, haphazard maneuvers that somehow occurred on the same day.

So this is very much a structure layers Gang. Something like the Mafia I presume.

Can we come to a conclusion that this is not something orcastrated by the likes of the Comando Vermelho, or do they infact have that type of mass organization?

    Palhacada...

    qual o seu bairro?

I speculate you haven't read this closely. But perhaps you aren't Brazilian and hence are unable to follow online news from Brazil.

This IS orchestrated by something like Comando Vermelho. The culprit is the criminal faction PCC - Primeiro Comando da Capital (First Command of the Capital).

These attacks are probably a good thing...maybe this will finally wake up the country and get them to pass laws that will actually put and keep people in jail. As much as I love Brazil, they need to get their shit together in terms of Justice...corruption...etc...the problem is that this will pass and everyone will forget...just as the Rio attacks of 2 years ago.

Brazilian prisoners stared this from the inside cause they have CELL PHONES...I mean come on....its rediculous.

In Brazil people murder others and if they even get jail...they are out 2 or 3 years later... the system is a freaking joke.
