Nonsense. Some of them are busts, but most are a mixed bag at worst. They landed an absolute hit with Messi, Suarez and Neymar, the world class players that even liked sharing the ball with one another. I'm thankful that Neymar broke that trio up every once in a while.
What i meant was people paint them as busts / Barca moved off of them and painted them as busts even though they were not.
Doesn't matter what they were and can be at other clubs. Benzema succeeded in Madrid because he was a much better match for Cristiano than Higuain was. You build the team around players like Cristiano and Messi, and Barcelona have failed to do so since they sold Neymar.
He was sold to Everton for 6 mil. bought back with the buyback clause for 12 mil. and sold to Watford for 13 mil. He generated 18 mil. with those two transfer moves so in a very basic breakdown Barca make about 7 mil. Euro in profit from the deal. No harm done.
They stuff the squad with material, they definitely always tried to have a deep squad. People can laugh at them stockpiling serviceable to solid players but then get mad at them getting consistent League results but that's where they help. Having a player like Vidal as a backup is simply worth it in a domestic competition. We're the Kings in knockout comps because the core was smaller but absolutely elite.
They are stupid club who just continue to pay him whatever he asks for. Every club needs to do a rebuild after a cycle finishes

Borussia Dortmund expected to make losses of €45 million: "The expected aforesaid key figures have to be understood as a direct impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has affected all Borussia Dortmund income & revenue sources." https://t.co/nQru50UWqH— Get German Football News (@GGFN_) June 29, 2020
Comparing some random 25 year old Minamino to the best player of his generation. English "pundit" morons love displaying their ignorance with such comments so often.
Bayern also confirmed a 50 mil. drop in revenue next season. The next TV contract that the League signed with Sky and DAZN is also of less value than the last one. I think we'll see a drop in revenue in Madrid as well, even if you just take the fans out of the picture, no concerts, no events, no commercial income on matchdays, all that comes together into one package, and that's just part of what clubs will be missing out.
Certainly not looking good for Setién between Suarez comments and Messi video. He was probably always in over his head for this job though, especially with the clumsy way Valverde was pushed out by the incompetent Barca board. However I think Xavi has said that he wants to wait until next summer when elections are slated to happen before taking over as coach. I could see Barca having major issues filling their manager position again after this season if Setién is fired - what high level or self-respecting coach would want to come into this situation as basically a lame duck for a year until a new board is elected and will want to bring in their own guy?
The accountancy swap deal, creating more than €50m on the FFP books for Juventus and Barcelona. pic.twitter.com/TYOQKwiUDv— Kristof Terreur (@kristofterreur) June 29, 2020 Now that Barca has officially announced the sale of Arthur, how does this make any sense?
✅ Odegaard entra en la lista❓ Alguacil le ha esperado para que se recuperase, aunque puede que no sea titularhttps://t.co/6oiaeG8nnW— Diario AS (@diarioas) June 29, 2020 Odegaard traveling with Sociedad today. He was a doubt due to muscle injuries, which could partially explain his drop in form. Big game for Sociedad vs Getafe. It could either give La Real a boost to continue fighting for a European spot or drop them out entirely. They are currently in 7th, two points behind Getafe. Also, we play Getafe on Thursday with one more day of rest
Barca's biggest problem for a number of years after Messi leaves / retires is filling his void. Forget what Xavi brings.
I love Grobbelar. Nationality and him having his start as a player in my hometown team may or may not influence my stance
