On one hand people are crying about the apocalyptic losses in football, on the other hand the same people are trying to convince me that Manchester United will get a 130 mi. Euro loan mid post coronavirus recession to buy Sancho. Huh.
I think their entire defensive lineup is average, not a single world class player. This is a defense that had Vidic and Ferdinand being arguably amongst the best defenders in europe. Now i can say with confidence that they're not even the best in Manchester.
Maguire, Elvedi and Christensen showing why they're complete CBs. Bednarek, Bani and Bremer are underrated battlers. AWB has a very high ceiling too!
Yawn. Not my cup of tea. But a lot of them seem to be British so they are practically incredible to certain people.
The chart clearly compares players with all nationalities. Keep the bias aside and look at it [emoji6] As for AWB he was going to be a good defender regardless. This is how he ended last season at his last club.
You can post an entire mathematical equation and you're not going to convince me that they're world class. But fiddling with numbers seems to be the current thing, dribbles, "potential projections" and etc.
They've been very good for United. Not saying they'll remain at top forever. Definitely not irrelevant in football as you presumed in your previous post. That's the point.
I didn't say they were irrelevant, I said I forgot about them, same as you probably couldn't tell me the starting lineup defense of a side fighting for the Europa league spots in Germany. They're solid, but the big tunes are being played in other venues.
You don`t need loan to produce 98M pounds - 110M euros transfer. But even if you would, i imagine there are financial instutions post recession willing to give such sum given your finances are okay. Besides, what part of the "small guys will get ********ed" you did not understand? If anything i expect a field day for top clubs when smaller clubs need to sell some personnel to survive.
I doubt Manchester United has 130 mil. laying around to meet Dortmund's estimation right now on a bank account. I read a newspaper article the other day that almost all big banks have stopped loaning money to football clubs. Again, this is not me just philosopising, a lot of people in football speculate that transfer windows will be massively different compared to the past. Small guys that operate within their means should have no problem.
98M is 110M euros. Given 5 year installments, well.... I expect UEFA to produce some legislative changes for next transfer window. Because otherwise, big clubs are in fantastic position to pick smaller ones to the bone.
McGuire is an average CB. AWB is an excellent defensive fullback. I’m guessing United fans are as happy with him as we are with Mendy.

Surprised not to see Vinicius or Rodrygo on this list. However, Messi does have a history of making bad picks. https://www.90min.com/posts/6545593...ed-by-messi-in-2015-16-to-become-future-stars ^^^ In 2015 and 2016, Messi picked 20 youngsters and only Timo became good
At least Ter Stegen admitted he has no clue about what's going on in football. He said he doesn't even know the name of many players.
It's just so fantastic to think that twitter nerds can name all these stats and players and feel accomplished and one of the best players in the world probably says "the guy with the silly haircut?" and that's about all he knows.
