I'm not sure we need a unicorn anymore, especially given Arteta's obsession with inverted fullbacks. What we need is someone who can receive the all on the half turn, carry the ball forward, pass to the 8s, and shield the back 4. We don't need the do it all midfielder who has to cover a ton of space and spray the ball forward anymore. If Sambi's positioning improves and his decisionmaking gets faster, he might be what we need.
i think that's the thing. lacazette wasn't particularly good at it but he at least tried to follow arteta's instruction/requirement for the position. and, as with xhaka, we can see that in their continuing relationship even when they fail at the job.
