i think we got 2 yellow cards on that break and it was the absolute correct call. i wish more referees would do that.

PSV had a break. tierney tried and did commit a tactical foul on their no 10 to stop the it but the ball squibbed to xavi so referee played the advantage. then odegaard does his own foul and that stopped play.

both were intentional tactical fouls to stop a break, even if one was played on. both would be good calls, in my opinion.

Same 1-0 result as Leeds but a much, much better performance. A lot of that is down to the opponent, but still, hopefully carry that on to Southampton.

Fun watch, should've been a much more comfortable scoreline.

    FT ARS 1-0 PSV

Couldn't watch it closely but it felt quite frustrating how we kept missing shots, many point blank. We dominated the stats, e.g. shots 25(8)-4(1), and it should've been a comfy 3-0 or 4-0 victory. But at least we scored once... thanks to Capitano Resurrecto. And kept a clean sheet.

    Bottom line: 3pts

    On we go!

OK, but it looks like only KT got a yellow, no?

it felt like we were under far more pressure against leeds and so much of it was our own poor plays with us being sluggish.

i think we were more solid here - if not so sharp with 2nd teamers - and their dangerous attacks were just really nice moves from a good team.

if so, then i take back the compliment to the referee. even if i agree with hudson that he had a great game.

real-time, i thought he pointed at both. but the announcing tandem were confused by it as well.

Odegaard and Tierney both did, per my eyes and the UEFA website.

a draw in one of the last two will do us. hopefully, that gives arteta peace of mind to actually rest some of our primaries next game.

    After the quarterfinals.

Only if it's against PSV. A 2-goal loss in Eindhoven and a draw v. Zurich, plus a PSV win against Bodo/Glimt puts PSV top of the group.

thank you. i haven't seen the UEFA website but, in real-time, it looked to me like he pointed at both.

I have two random observations about the game today Holding had his long passing boots on today, and Nketiah is much faster than I realized.

My mistake. I was looking at the Google stats and of course Odegaard was not showing up on the XI but rather in the subs list, so I missed his yellow. Right you both are/were.

y'know, i know it's probably coincidental but it's almost feeling like tomiyasu is on his way to becoming the specialist shutdown corner for us.

oh, you have mo salah? tomi, go play on the left.
hey, you're running gakpo? tomi, you're on the right.

It is a rare and highly valuable quality to have a "shut-down defender" who can play virtually anywhere on the backline. It's starting to look like he might actually be one of our most astute purchases in the last several years.

My theory is that CBS allowed him to have any theme he wanted as long as it wasn't phallic or sexual, which of course he is well known for.
