Kickoff from Ashburton Grove takes place at 8pm GMT/3pm EDT/9am HST. NBCSN will air the moving pictures live in the States.

After disappointing draws with Burnley and West Ham recently, our hopes for moving into the European places are fading. A win here would go a long way to restoring that hope given our soft run-in. Let’s not let these fools up off the mat.

    Up the Arsenal.

I was gonna say that in recent years we'd have had little hope of winning this fixture, but then I remembered that actually we had some wins over them last year: Community Shield in August (although technically that was a draw), preceded by EPL home win in July.

Plus they're having relatively shitty results of late, so here's hoping Jurgen didn't solve that over the interlull.

In your awesomely terse way, that basically sums up my philosophy on the best way to play football. Cheers.

When we beat them in july they'd won the title so they would have lost their edge. It seems those losses that they had in that time were carried on into the new season. Everybody is beating or drawing against Liverpool, it will be just our luck that they hit some form against us.

Do I watch from behind the sofa?

David Luiz out with a knee issue.

Willian (calf) is in full training.

ESR (thigh/quad), Saka (hammy) and Xhaka (illness) will be assessed before the match.

Just win. ********ing can't stand the scousers and their fans in Australia were the absolute worst when they won the league.

Now they are shit they are quiet, and if we roll them we get close to jumping them on the table.

I think we’re going to lose 1-3. Hope I’m wrong!

This fixture is the highest scoring in EPL history. Will the trend continue? I wouldn’t bank on it.

Hey Holding returns!! That's the CB pairing I was hoping for.

Also interesting to see Chambers still taking Bellerin's position. Hmm.

    COYG!!!!!

Bellerin has definitively lost his spot. It’s good news in the sense that Arteta is responding to what everyone can see, but bad news in the sense that I can’t see him having much transfer value going forward

No ESR, no Saka. Not even on the bench. Outside Martinelli, that bench looks sketch.

Not too surprising given the boss's comments yesterday.

I'm not too bothered. I like our XI. That is as long as we get high quality & consistency from those deputized. Are you listening Dani, Rob & Callum? And Thomas too?

Not a big fan of PEA's new do. But score a couple of goals today and I bet I'll come to love it. ;)

I mean, Chambers took like 3 years to recover from the burns at Swansea, so it's a fair concern

We should pressurize the shit out of Alison. He could be very culpable when trying to play it out.
