Agreed. But Emery's subs are to try to manage/preserve our 1 goal lead. ALWAYS makes me nervous that strategy!

Not liking how much possession Arsenal have conceded coming down the stretch. Seeing as the team's best defensive hope is going to rely on holding the ball and being a threat going forward the lads aren't working hard enough in this situation.

No offense to Steve Bould but I much prefer to see Freddie Ljungberg on the coaches bench.

    This is scary
We went from should have scored to almost conceding in seconds

Please Lord, convince Arsenal to bring back Curtis Mayfield's "MoveOn up" instead of the painful Neil Diamond

    Enjoyed the game

Early days so u can’t expect a perfect performance especially with a midfield 3 gelling

I would prefer a 3 of torreira ceballos and douzi myself as they seems more balanced

Auba did well but his touch and dribbling g is t great out wide. He’s a good outlet there for the counter

Laca showed good back to goal skills. Good finish, his hold up play is so much better than auba

I thought luiz was good, great early long passes. We beat their press well but city and Liverpool will need more caution

Not a bad game and result, I took ceballos out of my fantasy side for saint maxim so he better score

Another match, another 3 points, players bedding in, getting more comfortable with each other and hopefully moving closer toward a vision that Emery is trying to instill this season.

I'm not seeing it, so I'm hoping it.

What I'm seeing is a reality check at Anfield. Hope the boys are up for it.

Still a lot of questions, but also still 3 pts.

    - High shot count and high number of shots on target are always a good thing. On other days 1 or 2 of those cracks by Ceballos or Torreira or... goes in. Movement still needs improvement but that will come along as the guys grow more familiar with each other.

    - Clear the team needs someone to step up and lead the defense. Saw some nice individual plays but it appears Leno is still relatively quiet, so one of the central defenders has to be more vocal and direct traffic.

    - Possession is going to be critical, it appears. Gunners need to learn how to be more ruthless is getting and retaining the ball. Need to adopt a spirit that wants to own the ball and force the order of play.

My primary reservation is that Arsenal looked shaky defending balls played into the box. Luiz has never been dominant in the air, so against teams like Burnley that play a very direct style of football, once Holding is healthy, Emery might consider pairing Holding and Sokratis in the center of the defense.

I have no doubt Holding - Sokratis will be our starting pair once Rob gets fit. Luiz will be 3rd and Chambers/Mustafi 4th, 5th.

Better today, but still. We gave up 18 shots. At home. To Burnley.

    At Anfield next week...yikes.

Luiz didn't come to Arsenal to sit on the bench. He is also our best center back by some distance.

It doesn’t matter what he came to do, Rob Holding will TAKE it from him soon

Luiz is better at Sokratis in certain aspects but I see a Holding - Sokratis pairing being more complimentary.

Brush, Luiz is a much better center back than Sokratis and Holding. This isn't even a question. He may be falling off, but until it's catastrophic, the others aren’t touching him.

Rob Holding is better than you think, all he needs to do is get fit.

Prince is right. Luiz has a propensity towards the hilarious in defense, but he's otherwise reliable and he's probably the best passer from the back in England right now (with the possible exception of Stones?).
