Yeah man when you're at CPFC you get the ball because the team you're playing against most times don't view you as a threat so they play ball and you can counter, blah blah but when you have to be proactive and also deal with stubborn teams you gotta break down it's a different thing all together

He does seem at a loss for what he needs to be doing.

Eze is clearly talented and will be vital cog but he doesn’t understand artetas system of press and possession.
When he was at Crystal palace - team was bottom four in possession

Gyok and Eze suck at pressing, I think that's why we've seen so many conceded goals shortly after scoring. Unable to get the ball off the opponent, they push and create chances. Brentford had like 75% possession between the Madueke goal and their goal.

VG isn't good (likely never been asked to press) but when MO or Kai are playing behind him he puts in significantly more effort. I've never seen Eze really put in any effort to press no matter who is on the field.

    Gyokeres position is more defined

I don’t think Eze is half assing

He's either understands his positional responsibility and is not putting in the effort or he doesn't get where he needs to be. This far into the season, neither are excusable, imo.

    It’s Arteta

I don't think there's any argument that Arteta's tactics are too risk averse. It doesn't mean that Eze can't figure out how to be more involved.

    It’s not about Eze

    It's about the team’s mentality

Both can be true at the same time, imo.
