Don't think you're off the hook yet, @NorthBank

Still waiting for a full on matchday report from the Emirates, maybe after you get some sleep and sober up :ROFLMAO:

I shot a very similar video starting one second after the goal. And I must say the videos don’t quite do it justice. It was nuts.

And we did, didn’t we. If we win the thing in May, this comeback victory may be a one of those moments of folklore that’s often cited and lives on in our history.

OK so then, what corollary or inverse treatment am I owed now? ;)

Edit: oh I now see that you’re working on that… a gofundme pool, excellent idea friends!

Good point. And methinks Amy Lawrence would agree.

Oh, I could think of nothing better. But it would also require a season ticket. Sadly neither is happenin.

But I did have the pleasure of hanging with James McNicolas & Clive Palmer a bit in the pub after. And met Elliott Smith fleetingly on way out.

I will milk the memory of this big day for years I hope.

My wife who’s over with me but has zero interest in footy, cannot begin to imagine what this meant. Maybe if she’d have been there she’d start to have a clue.

I’m dragging her to the Womens League Cup Final tomorrow. If the gals can miraculously beat the mighty Chelsea, maybe just maybe she’ll start to get it?

My flight home from working in TX this week was cancelled due to weather last night, so I was stuck on flights and airports trying to get home from 5am-3pm today. only caught last 40 mins of 1T and intermittently before we scored in 2T.

I’m so grateful for this forum. Hours later, I celebrated with all of you in this thread.

it’s great to be a Gooner

Same way Man City drew with a poor AV or a Lampard led Everton at home, shit teams still have quality on their lists and if you are off for a couple of minutes they will sting you.

Obviously, we can’t keep doing this (Aston Villa and today), but hot damn if it isn’t ridiculously fun when we do.

After Emi’s antics last week and Neto’s today, maybe, just maybe, goalkeepers will learn that it’s bad Karma to time waste vs Arsenal.

They won’t even pretend to learn that lesson until a ref sends one of them off. Probably not even then. Even Ederson was time wasting in the first half against us.

As long as Arsenal keeps dishing out karmic retribution, that’s ok.

I'll say this. Nelson's movement on the pitch was noticably different from anything any other Arsenal player did on the left side of the pitch today. Maybe even all season.

Call it whatever you want, but teams watch film. They prepare for what teams do and have done against other teams. Be sure they'll be watching this performance now and digesting some Reiss Nelson and start to understand how to prepare for him too. He's not Erling Haland, but for now, he's for the rest of the league to figure out.

Everyone got drawn into that corner and Nelson sat back. Thats the best takeaway from this. So many players would have been sucked into going for the header.

And as usual, just follow the examples of other sports that solved this problem?

'time off' - e.g. we got a 7th min because they wasted time so that was pointless from them
reverse free kicks/throw ins for time wasting

when the keeper catches the ball then falls on the ground, simply award an indirect free kick against him. It's low quality digital entertainment so just disincentivise and they won't do it.

When the keeper catches the ball, IMO he must either kick or throw within 10s. He should not be able to hold the ball forever, theatrically waving everyone forward, then place the ball on the ground now no one is close by and continue to play it. It isn't a set piece. There is no reason the keeper should be allowed to have the ball out of play and not be allowed to be challenged for so long.

In general Bournemouth sat way to far back. In the final 10 mins Arse could play into the final 3rd without hinderance. While pundits will chalk that up to knowing how to win games, I think it is also to do with intimidation. Teams are scared of arsenal.

This might be contrarian, but I thought Arsenal's tactics were quite poor in the final 15 mins.

They didn't get behind the defence but resorted to crosses from the half space. Some were dangerous because OZ is elite, but i think you have to try to get behind the defence, or try to play through the D

Obviously Bournemouth were all over MO, and so is a big disadvantage that Xhaka is offensively worthless
