I just did 9.65km or a straight up 6 miles for the folks at home. But it was sunny and 48 Fahrenheit.

nice! It’s stormy season here so the wind is a real arse. I got a my first proper running jacket for Christmas so the rain is not the end of the world but I would much rather have the crisp negative temps with blue sky!

In years past you would turn on the TV to see City or Liverpool down, then immediately turn it off and think "they'll win this." And they would.

    Arsenal just did that.

They are each making the number four. The stretch is called the figure four (great stretch btw) so I assume it is that for the fourth goal.

Yeah, second meniscus surgery on the same knee seems to have taken better this time.

The committee awards extra points for originality, but has to deduct for technical delivery and execution

I’m doing a Ragnar in Atlanta in April. Do you ever hit any trails or have injuries mainly kept you on paved/smooth surfaces?

I've never been that in to trail running---maybe go once or twice a year. I have a couple of friends who are really into it. One of whom it wouldn't surprise me if he's doing that same event as you.

Do you want me to give my really cynical speculation as to why?

Nah. I get that there’s the tribalism of sport and, regrettably, an element of racism.

But it seems like the vast majority should love this kid. Not while he’s lashing volleys into the roof of your net, obviously, but the rest of the time he represents so much good about your sport, your league, your people, etc. This isn’t Harry Kane trying to end people’s careers. This is the sweet, wholesome kid who is living his and your dream.

And he’s getting booed every time he touches the ball.

EDIT: Or maybe yes I do want to read the cynical speculation. Is there something else, you think?

Also, on the lashing volleys into the roof of the opponent’s net bit. Holy shit how good was that? The game was so crazy I feel we may have overlooked it a little bit.

I'm not sure either of the above explanations have nailed it. Here's the video (see 0:27 mark). It's that sweeping motion they do with their hands which is most distinctive and puzzling...

I mean, yes. That’s the tribalism explanation, but nobody boos every great player they come across.

Love Vieira celebrating before Martinelli has even gotten his first touch, and Tierney going straight to Fabio before even watching the goal.

Yeah I thought Vieira's very early pre-celebration was priceless. I missed the Tierney one so thanks for pointing that out. What a finish to that game! And 2 comebacks. Damn! cannot remember anything like that in recent memory.

He plays for Arsenal, he missed a penalty kick for England, and even though other teams constantly kick him, other teams’ fans think he’s diving, and he’s black.. is this cynical enough?

People I know in the UK have told me some think he goes down too easily and some still blame him for the Euro penalty miss.

    Sorry dude!

I am 3 years since my injury and frustrating rehab now. MRI revealed degeneration of the cartilage but managed to avoid surgery via mega bike work

    sucks to get old!
