    Better striker, Calafiori or Merino?

Califiori crushed that. How'd that not go in?

    HT ARS 1-0 WHU

After a very lopsided 1T where only one team came out to play really. And late in the half we finally got our just desserts.

Except for the very start of the match, Nuno's XI hasn't really looked a threat. Nevertheless we better score another for cushioning.

And the only real bummer is that MO8 had to come off. But I'm cautiously optimistic he'll be fine for our next match.

Should be up 2-0. If or when we get up to 2-0, half way kill the game off, the flood gates might open as WH will have to come out of that defensive posture.
Then I hope we Gyokeres scores. He's getting close.

Calafiori is an absolute freak, is probably leading our player of the season at the moment with Raya and Gabi XL.

A lot of promise in that first half, probably should be on 3 goals, maybe even 4.

But if we come out strong in the second half we will score more.

This match easily could be 3-0, maybe even 4-0. That was a stellar half. We barely lost a beat after Øde came off.

I've learned that commentators often have no idea what they are talking about. Some are very good. Some are completely full of shit. Sounds like the guy you listened to was either full of shit or a WH fan.

Eze and Calafioris shots should have gone in, and Saka has been offside or been unlucky cutting in. Minimum we should be 3-0 but we could be 4 or 5 goals up if we were lucky.

Just need to shut down this game in the second half. WHU have a goal in them. Probably not more than that, but they nearly caught us out.

Fingers crossed on MO8. We need that second. Their long balls early on were a problem at first, then we were dominant. We need that second. If we do, it should force WH to come out of their defensive posture and open the flood gates possibly. And if so, hoping Gyokeres gets one.

I still wonder if he and Ermedin Demirovic are the same dude. Until I see them both in the same place at the same time, I will remain suspicious.

Gyorkeres frequently getting double and triple-teamed in the box and creating space behind him for everyone else to attack. Nearly every good chance in that 45’ was because of the space he created. Strategic and unsung hero in that 1T, imo.

Strikers strike. If you don't, questions arise.

.64 xG in the first half and probably would’ve scored if a Saka cross had been in front of him rather than behind.

Peacock still sucks. Just had a solid black screen for a few minutes during HT, and missed the 2T kickoff

Not sure it's Peacock's fault. The little scoreboard top left was missing for the first 2 mins. I suspect EPL or TNT had issues.

I thought the name Mavropanos looked familiar. He was on our books a few years ago.

Injuries notwithstanding I wonder if we see Merino for Gyokeres, Martinelli for Trossard, and maybe late on Norgaard for Rice.

Would really love to see Nwaneri get minutes though.

They are doubling up on Gabi on corners. Smart in theory but...

We're keeping up the pressure in the first 10 mins of 2T. Looking for that 2nd. COME ON!
