Arteta says Auba omission is a discipline issue. With the team captain. Again. A few bad apples is understandable, but Arteta consistently has issues with many different players where sometimes we find out what happened and sometimes we dont (Ozil, Guendouzi, Pepe, Saliba, AMN, Auba). This is an Arteta problem, not a player problem. Arteta on why Aubameyang is not in the squad today:"Unfortunately due to a disciplinary breach. I think we have been very consistent that we have certain non-negotiables in the team that we have set ourselves as a club, and he's not involved today." #AFC pic.twitter.com/LCZFqfILBU— Chris Wheatley (@ChrisWheatley) December 11, 2021
Not the first time there has been an issue with PEA. Capt shouldn't be doing stuff like that. The Watts tweet above says that he missed training on Fri.
I think Saka needs to come up with some disciplinary issues next week. Would be better for him to get a proper rest before he incurs a soft tissue injury over the holiday period.
We don't know the full story yet, but at this point I'm taking it on face value: they have team disciplinary rules, agreed to by all, and PEA breached one. Again. I'm not saying Arteta is the best man manager, but if there are rules, he should absolutely enforce them. p.s. Auba has been very bad lately so it's not like we're going to miss him.
Because it's like a marriage. And for some people there's more commitment to their footy team than their marriage.
He’s checked out. I don’t recall Auba having disciplinary issues with any other coach. Hopefully, we will find out the whole story, but regardless of what it is, Auba does not seem to be happy, and it shows in his performances.
Seeing Willy Caballero in goal puts a bit of a smile on. Maybe he'll have another good howler in him today.
The tweet I quoted was deleted, but seeing Nketiah subbed on ahead of him vs Everton would be a good reason for him to be unhappy, and something created entirely by Arteta.
