I await the "Arteta hates Dowman" laments next season.

Arteta said Saliba felt something in his hamstring, because of course he did. As long as it isn't a tear and surgery, might need to shut him down for the final match day.

Huge relief to secure CL qualification.

We can give Tierney, Jorginho and all the departing players a chance to play, and keep our transfer plans moving, which would no doubt have changed if the worst happened.

Really glad we aren't in the club world cup. The players need a rest - physically and mentally. Odegaard in particular has been dying to get a chance to reset.

Hopefully we have as good a summer as we did two years ago, if not better, get the Saka and Saliba contracts sorted, and come back ready to win something. If Saliba doesn't renew or makes ridiculous demands, I'm fine selling him this summer.

It’s nonsense because it’s too many more games, FIFA and UEFA are squeezing ever Euro, Dollar, and GBP they can get out of the game with the increased risk of player injuries. With City’s participation this summer, I do not expect them to start well next season.

Agreed. But capitalism is one of the strongest forces on earth, and not without frequent negative consequences. So clubs/players having the summer off, or at least a good portion of the summer, or at least every other summer when WC/regional national tournaments aren't on, has gone poof! Along with stadiums that used to be named for something other than a company or product.

But anyway, we digress... in a thread where we should be feeling relatively positive about our boys performance today... finally overcoming a bogey team, getting the result that was needed, qualifying "early" for UCL, and essentially clinching 2nd place in the league, ahead of several clubs we used to look up at.

    Dude

the players are overstretched as it is.... this is nothing but a money grab and UEFA and FIFA are modern day robber barons.

They completely made up a rationale to invite Inter Miami because they want Messi in it to sell tickets.

Also worth mentioning the cash that will be paid out to clubs will increase inequality, especially in the smaller leagues. Some clubs will make far, far more from this tournament than they do from TV in their domestic league.

I like the idea of a Club World Cup and this is always how it should have been organized.

it’s a stupid tournament as it is organized.
    Champions league has been stretched
    World Cup has been stretched
    Euros expanded too
    League games are demanding

This is all just nonsense and we should expect more injuries in light of this overload money grab

I like ice cream but not every day

Mikel spoke today ahead of Soton...
    • Timber just had long put-off ankle surgery and will be out until about pre-season
    • Saliba has a (minor?) hammie thing and will be out " a few weeks"
    • Partey got praise for quality, consistency & availability, and he reiterated he wants him to stay next season
    • Havertz has bulked up during his time off :D
    • He'll be watching UWCL Final on Saturday... will you? ;)

My first time on here. I have never been sold on Partey. Still not. He makes a lot of mistakes in easy situations, IMHO. The Jorginho type midfielder is kind of a missing player for me. I think we need a little more grit and speed in the middle. A touch of creativity would be nice. Odegaard needs to be free to do his thing. Havertz is not horrible, but a real CF is needed. Just my opinion, but I think Mateta would be great at Arsenal. I hope the summer brings some help.

I actually found this site earlier, but that computer crashed and I had to make a new "me". I have been a fan since Bergkamp. Such a great player. So, I throw in my 2 cents every now and then. Cheers.
