I agree I also think that's true of the English football media too. They don't really watch the sport. They like the feeling around it.
I’m still on the fence about whether that dude is a bot. If he is, I kinda want to meet the guy that developed it.
It's the whole ecosystem now. Most ( especially younger ) just watch social media, tik toks, memes, vlogs, Youtube fan tv and repeat that shit ad nauseum. It's very hard to find folks who know about football.
tbf, its sky sports, talksport, etc as well Sports media is basically dead. Thats why fan news has taken off as people have gone into silos... also, pretty bad. (this is media in general, tbf)
I teach high school, it's amazing how kids have no real concept of players careers independent of highlight videos they've seen. It is 1000% accurate that they don't actually watch the games - just 10 second clips they see on social media.
I have a 9!year old and his attention span in sports is limited to injury time or late 4th quarters in nba I am working on this but least he is now referring to arsenal as “we”
Thought this was interesting Arsenal have outrun their opponents in 35 of their 37 Premier League matches this season, more than any other team (Leeds next with 32 of 37) pic.twitter.com/jq98AbWxgS— Opta Analyst (@OptaAnalyst) May 19, 2026 Football/soccer is still a game of athletes. And we sure have some good ones.
Wonder how much all that running leads to injuries. I'd think it certainly has to do with Arteta's April record.
100% plays into fatigue and likely a good bit of the muscle injuries. No reason we can't play like that assuming we rotate more.
Agree, need a slightly bigger group and the Arteta really needs to rotate more. Or same size and dial back the press.
Do know about AFCTV (I think) and all of these Arsenal pods? I just became aware of them a couple of months ago. But now that I have watched some, I see how a lot of the posters just listen to these people. I also have questioned how many people truly watch the games. It’s not easy in many places outside of the US.
Ahem. That took a minute to write. Crystal Palace v. THE PREMIER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS, Arsenal FC, Sunday May 24, 2026, 1600 GMT | BigSoccer Forum
Had to watch a non-HD 'cast of the match so I didn't realize until today watching a slo-mo clip of Kai's header that he posterized that dbag Flemming. Love that for them both.
