Sure luck is a thing. But I cannot say or agree that if we win the league, it's down to luck primarily. It's a 38 game season.
No one said that, man. But you're deluded if you can't admit that we're riding our luck lately, which is what I actually said.
I get what you're saying, but if this were true, we wouldn't have 2 games left in the season with 2 titles on the line. I also feel like this is very true. Mikel has found a way to keep this team together despite all the negatives. Based on what I've seen and heard, he's got them feeling like "it's us against the world".
Burnley's last shot was at 57'It wasn't the most scintillating second half but Arsenal's ability to put the clamps on a team from threatening is as good as any team and probably better.1 more win.— Scott Willis 🏆 (@scottjwillis) May 18, 2026
don’t you know It’s only luck when we win and it’s our fault when we lose? I’m trying to keep things positive but I remember every single one of you who gave up about 3 weeks ago. Saying city was mentally stronger and we were gonna collapse etc. And we can easily pull receipts. We are on the verge of winning the league against a dynasty and for the first time in over 20 years and some of you didn’t enjoy a single effin second of it.
What a win! That was horrifying, dont care what the xG says! I legit dont think I will be well on Sunday if Arsenal need 3 points. I already feel like throwing up thinking about Sunday
As excited as I was for the Eze/Odegaard/Rice midfield, I don't think it really worked. I think Arsenal would have been better with MLS and 1 of Odegaard/Eze. It might come down to that midfield never playing any minutes together, but of course I don't think MLS/Rice/Eze had played together prior to the Fulham drubbing.
If we are going to play Odegaard, Havertz, and Trossard - Eze is going to have to link up quicker -. Trossard and Odegaard tend to hold on to the ball to create...Havertz - less - but Eze needs to change his game as an 8....something he never played. I am not dismissing of this set up but they need more games and I am not sure it's time to experiment now. Rice was great today
Also, while Burnely wasnt dangerous going forward, on a whole they played really well. I kept waiting for a relegation side to make a couple of mistakes, but they stayed organized. Maybe that was on Arsenal for not forcing the issue more.
Every champion gets luck one way or another. Last year Liverpool got lucky we had injuries and cards and City lost Rodri. Pool won games where in big moments they were right side of the coin flip. The year Leicester won it all the other big teams had weird, ********y seasons. And they also had games where the cards landed for them. 2 and 3 seasons ago when we didn't win the title we had luck go against us on games that cost us points. Cards, decisions that turned 3 points into 1 or 1 point into a loss. This year the luck is in our favour. But it's wild that people will say we are lucky Havertz wasn't sent off when we weren't lucky Trossard shot came off the post back into play (real luck would have seen that do a Martinez and bounce off the keeper into the net) and that Saka foul in the box has been a penalty for years and yet today it's magically not called. If we had drawn today and lost the title then luck wouldn't be on our side today.
He gets hit harder than that in training. He was buying time. Love him to death though and wouldn't trade him for anyone. But he milked it.
We are playing scared. Makes sense. None of them have won a league title...in England. Gyokeres has won elsewhere. Maybe 1 or two others in other leagues. England is a different kettle of fish. Pure speculation on my part but had we won the league cup, we'd have been champions by now and would have drawn at City. But that's water under the London Bridge. I would even contend our nervousness in the league has creeped into our CL form. We would easily have won away at Leverkusen and hard fought but a win at Aletico had we had the mindset of last fall. I am obviously hoping Bournemouth does us a favor but I hope the players aren't thnking that. They are probably but I hope not. City beats them after expecting to be champions and its mentally tougher going into the Palace game than thinking beat Palace and City win, they win. Also, expecting the Palace game to be easy won't cut it. City win its a MUST win and if its a MUST, I am very fearful of us having to win. We look shaky. We should have scored 2 or 3 goals at a minimum. Instead of countering Burnley who needed a goal, we mainly hoofted it long. Only one real proper counter happened with Martinelli who could have done a bit better but it is what it is.
I felt so sick before this game with nerves I hope that Bournemouth draw or win tonight as the palace game would be unbearable otherwise Kai was almost an idiot
Rubbish. He absolutely isn't hit like that in training. He got trucked while he was defenseless by that same twat who already should have been on a card before that happened. And he was moving slowly after the match. At one point during the lap of honor, he was talking with another player and even gestured at his back.
It was a poor challenge by an obviously exhausted player. My buddy and I were yelling for him to be subbed about five minutes before. But yeah, he got extremely lucky.
