Kickoff from Old Trafford occurs at 8:15pm GMT/3:15pm EST/9:15pm HST. NBCSN provides the television coverage in the States. Did what we had to do against Newcastle, but despite United’s struggles this should prove to be a much tougher test. Who cares? Let’s stuff these clowns anyway. Up the Arsenal.
Rangnick will not be leading this one due to Visa issues so we go against Carrick. Let's end his tenure by giving him a massive L!
The decision about Ronaldo will be interesting. 2 days ago he sat on the bench for 60 minutes. At the time I wrongly assumed that was rotational for of a midweek UCL match, but then I realized that we are their next match! So let's assume we face him from the first minute. And if not, Ralf Ragnick may be off to his first pot-stirring controversy, before he even steps foot in OT. Anyway, even though they were just outshot 24-3 at Stamford Bridge, I have a hunch ManUre won't be quite as shitty for our visit. Certainly we aren't quite as fly as Chelski. And Auba surely ain't been as lethal as Crynaldo this season. Cue the nail-biter.
Must win. Nothing else to say. Need to keep up the pressure on WHU, Wolves, Spurs and United for that top 4/5 spot for Europe next season. WHU have Brighton, Wolves have Burnley and Spuds have Brentford. Just win and send Carrick off in the best way possible. Arsenal 2-1.
I've got a sick feeling the officiating could play a large impact on this result. United badly need a win, and I've got a hunch Sir Red Nose may call in some remaining favors he recently found under his couch cushions. This feels like there will be heavy rotational fouling against us, and a soft PK awarded to Bruno. We'll outplay them over 90 minutes, but we won't have the end product (again) to get a win. Yanited's attack doesn't scare me with how solid our defense has been over the last 3 months (excluding the 'Pool result), so we've got a chance to grab all the points if the officiating isn't tilted. 1-1 final.
An 89th-minute equalizer by that annoying little shit Neal Maupay against West Ham means that a win here would put us into 4th. No pressure or anything.
Indeed. Overall, outside of the top 3 doing their thing, all the other results today are really favorable for us. So a win not only moves up to 4th, but builds space with most of the other teams we're challenging for 4th place.
Amazing his two horrendous open goal misses last match day (one was offside, not that it makes kicking it into orbit any better) and then he pulls that bullshit out.
Yup and for me the audio is a half-second ahead of the video. Ah, streaming. At least once the game starts it'll be less of an issue.
A few interesting choices in the XI: Auba plays, even though he's sucked of late. Martinelli earns a spot on the right flank, deputizing for the injured Saka. Odegaard in for some creative control in the middle Elneny in, for defensive steel? Tavares keeps his spot... KT is gonna have to earn it back somehow? p.s. And for them, Ronaldo starts up top. Have to admit that makes me a little nervous
He's played well. Earned his spot. And apparently it's his to lose now. p.s. Very much enjoyed NBC's reflection on the Giroud scorpion goal. That was a fun day. Including his post-match interview.
I fully expect several subs, regardless of scoreline, by 60 mins based on this starting lineup. Here's hoping we are at minimum level, or even up a goal or two by then.
Tavares against Liverpool was one of the worst individual performances I've ever seen an Arsenal player have. It seems to be his spot to lose, but I'd strongly disagree about that being earned through quality play.
