One of the better parts of finally having a smart phone is the ability to add podcasts like this one. Now I have something else to listen to while driving.
I listened to the first half of today's podcast, and I enjoyed the discussion about Gerrard, and whether or not he needs to - deserves to - start every game, particularly in central midfield.
All hail Scholesy - http://www.theanfieldwrap.com/2013/09/the-anfield-wrap-in-our-liverpool-home/ That's what I'm talking about - giving back to the community.
I've been enjoying The Bib Theorists recently as well. Not quite the professional production, but offer solid analysis. They also regularly spend some time on the academy, which is always welcome. Feeds my mid week fix. Worth a listen. http://thebibtheorists.com/podcast/ FYI, if you are in the US and want to get through Itunes, you have to sign into the UK store and subscribe to it. Once you do that it should update automatically. I've been meaning to post something about all the quality LFC bloggers/pods out there. (eg: http://basstunedtored.com/) It seems to me there is an almost endless supply of really good stuff out there. Do other clubs have as much good stuff?
Can't believe they give it away. Probably shouldn't tell Scholesy, but I'd guess 85% of readers/listeners would stump some cash if they asked.
I like the pay what you want models. I'm a consultant, so I can appreciate getting reimbursed for my time. I usually try and pay for what I consume (BS aside ). They seem to be putting in way too much effort to be giving it away for free, but we shouldn't complain too loudly. I'm perfectly happy to continue to take it for free if they are able to make it work.
He's right, I can be a gnarly bastard.... Honestly we are really just happy to help. I like the guys, we give away tickets every home game to the listeners because sometimes real fans just can't get tickets. We really enjoy the lads and the chat, some good discussions and some lively chat in the bar at the Crowne plaza afterwards. Investing in TAW was an easy decision because we believe in what they do, the free to the fan model is something we fully support. having them share our new Liverpool offices was an easy decision, it'll be some craic having them in with us and if that doesn't keep us on our toes nothing will!
Yeah, I like the Bib Theorists as well, though they are incredibly dry compared to Neil Atkinson, et al, who are extremely entertaining. Good analysis but hardly the riot that the Anfield Wrap guys can be. Good on ya, Scholesy for supporting great football media.
Dare I say that Scholesy was having "fun"? The back and forth at the end with Neil and co about not taking him to see Brendan was hilarious.
