Doesn't do him justice. I don't even think his best play - that 1-2, steal, and blind square to create a chance - was in there (unless I missed it).

    Here's the extended cut:

Can we change the title of the thread to the American Modric instead of the American Havertz?

Besides having a weak shot on goal like Havertz in the 40th minute against Wolfsburg, don't see the resemblance at all to Havertz....

Change the title to "The American Pulisic", in honor of "The Black Drogba".

I get exhausted watching Aaronson play. Unreal motor.

In the 1st half, he had the perfect chance to score by shooting back across the outstretched defender and wrongfoot the goalie in the opposite corner....he would have scored for sure. He'll learn that move with time.

the more I watch him the more he strikes me as a perfect player for Barcelona.

the movement, the short passing, the engine ....

Yeah to me he seems like more of a Klopp player. Great motor, good athlete, smart, very direct player. Reyna seems to me to be more of a Pep/traditional Barca player, as he’s productive, but also more calculated with his decision making.

Good post. I guess BA could turn into a Firminho type player although he'd have to work on his shooting. He has the other elements. I would love to see him, however, become a quicker version of Modric...a metronome type player.

Salzburg win 1-0. Intense game, Austria really matched Salzburgs intensity and athleticism. Lots of yellows.

Aaronson involved in the goal, kinda got the hockey assist even though his chipped ball over the defense was played backwards by a defender (where there was contact by Ulmer, coulda been a foul I think) and Ulmer took the bad header and slotted it in for Adeymi.

Stats are solid, he is proving that he can stay involved in games now even if they get choppy with no many chances. Also played the full 90 again and was finding the ball more often later in the game once things opened up.

Wasn't his best game, but the work rate is there. Against teams like Mexico, our players (Aaronson included) will learn to be more clever on the ball- since that is the strength of the Mexican teams. To their credit, you can't just go with some bland move and think you can get by.... or think just 1-2 chess moves ahead.

You need to be 1-2-3-4 and expect the unorthodox or they will take the ball from you.

I would still like to see him model Modric's play....

He always gives you all he has. Sometime it works, sometimes it doesn't.
Although he is listed at 5'10 he is a bit light when it comes to the physical aspect of the game.
His video did not show his errant passes or bad crosses from corners.

He’s our Honey Badger. All over the place. Will harass the crap out of you. Quick with pace, skillful enough (growing), and a tenacity and engine that just doesn’t give. There’s a reason that Mexican player basically assaulted him.

In the future, I know that he will become even better. I just hope he gets a little more dog in him so that folks fear the consequences of f**king with him on the pitch. Big fan!

Two points dropped at home! Lead at the top only 14 points! Terrible result!
Coach has to be feeling the pressure.
BA’s playing time could be in jeopardy.

How am I going to be able to sleep this week. Sigh.

He's getting really involved, 74 touches for him is crazy. He also had some good moments - one late run into the box that resulted in a wide open volley he put wide that shoulda been a goal. Two good dribbles - beat his defender on the endline and sent in a ball across the box in the first half and then split two defenders in the corner late in the game, got grabbed and earned a free kick.

He's really growing into becoming somewho who doesn't disappear every other game, but now the next step is making a mark. He needs to put away some of those chances, and 0 key passes is also not good.

He plays with a lot of heart, but he gets pushed around more than he should. If he gets to the same training regiment that Pulisic has, he will win more of those 50-50 balls.
