I have a difficult timing judging Aaronson's quality until he plays against high competition on a regular basis (more than occasional Champions League) He is on a very good development track so far. Has youth on his side. Seems destined to land at RB by next summer and hopefully Jesse will have a good season and breathing room in the job. But the next phase (top 5 league) is the longer, flatter part of the curve usually. Competition for starts will be fierce. Flaws become more easily exposed and we see how each individual player adjusts. No reason to think he can not do it, but we won't know until he is thrown in the mix. If we all remember, Tyler started out amazingly at RB, but then had a very lost year to injuries. He then rebounded to be a part-time starter but now solidifying his game once more. But his best stretch still remains that first 1/2 season at the club. So it is an interesting first 2-3 years when these players make the leap to the big-time (Top 5 league) and rarely does it go smoothly.
That's an interesting take but Havertz helped beat City in a CL final - I believe playing at striker. I'm going to go out on a limb and say BA will never come close to that kind of thing but would love to be wrong. Pretty setup or mishit? It's awesome that at least one of our key players is in form going into an international break...
strong guess but the chances of any one player doing that is small. But BA might reach a Havertz-ish level, that is a different matter.
📰@86_longo: Milan is interested in two players from Salzburg players: Luka Sučić and Brenden Aaronson. pic.twitter.com/iQ0pf2WuUd— Milan Posts (@MilanPosts) October 5, 2021 CHOO CHOOO the rumor mill for Aaronsons next move has officially started its engines!!!
Aaronson is featured in a Guardian story today: ‘This kid has it’: Brenden Aaronson at center stage of USA’s World Cup push
Funny how fast narratives can change - seems like yesterday we were talking about how quiet he can be in the middle for long stretches. Fun to watch his development and buzz around that.
in fairness i dont think its just narratives changing - brenden is getting better at staying involved, though i still say hes a work in process in that regard.
The whole "touches" thing didn't make a lot of sense. Noobs don't get passes from grizzled vets (Philly) and his effectiveness per touch was likely phenomenal anyway, plus goal dangerous players have their passing lane blocked while guys like Bradley and Adams are allowed to sit back and pass around the back all day.
For the first time in his career, he will be expected to be the number 1 offensive option. It will be interesting to see how he responds.
For Salzburg or for the USMNT? This is his club page so I'll say that, so far this season, it seems he's responding well.
Either one. I don’t think he’s ever been expected to be the number 1 option in very high pressure games before, although I may be wrong.
Aaronson is on AC Milan's radar per Daniele Luongo. Being looked at as a both a backup for Brahim Diaz as a CAM and a RW
Have to think a transfer would be more than 15-18 million. Right wing is probably Milan’s “weakest” spot.
most important thing is that each challenge he has been handed - he has risen to the occasion in a consistent way ... first at Philadelphia, then Salzburg, with the USMNT .... no reason he cannot take the next step up and develop and perform ...

cmon Brenden ... you need to go all in on the Jager Schnitzel with the really good gravy and kartoffel salat ... top it off with a good pilsner. on second thought - that is probably not the best meal to keep you match fit. but tastes great.
