Anyone catch the season premier this evening on CBS? What do you think about the teams. The soccer moms didn't fare too well did they.
love this show!! I expect it to be great as the last 2 years....don't have a great feel for the teams yet as it's too early. But this and Survivor to me are the only "reality" shows that really capture my attention (oh, and my guilty pleasure from day 1: Real World). Am I the only one who gets embarrassed as an American when some of these teams just come across as crass and rude to the locals? But it makes an interesting watch!
I didn't watch the first two seasons, but last spring a friend talked me into it, and I'm definitely liking it. That team of twin male models? Dumb as a box of rocks. Oh, and Heather (of "Team Heave", as they've been nicknamed by the folks at www.televisionwithoutpity.com) lived on my freshman floor at Cornell. Random.
I couldn't believe those twins left their luggage in a cab! On purpose! In Mexico City no less! It woulda been awesome if the driver really had just taken off with their stuff. Dumbasses. And who didn't laugh with evil glee when one of those Harvard bitches fell out of the donkey cart face-first? I viewed that as karma for their lame begging-for-money routine at the Miami airport. And then the other one crying like a baby when they were gonna go parachute - geez. I can't wait to see how she's gonna wig out later when things get really stressful. I might root for John Vito & Jill too. I thought they would be annoying, but so far they're okay. I need another ep or two to decide who I like. I have some I hate already, though. The "odd couple" brothers might be okay too.
I found some of last years teams more endearing. Maybe after next weeks episode. So far the brothers have been cool, though I maybe like you that they were a bit strange. Agreed the Harvard girls will be interesting to see. Both my kids particularly my son love this show.
Very tense and riveting episode last night. Felt bad for the father and son, but the nice thing is they bonded and found common ground. The difficulty in getting to London and the various means options available really left it wide open. I don't know about the rest of you, but the twins are really getting on my nerves. Everything is so effortless with them. I'd really like to see them have to scramble. Everyone else is scrambling and they are catching rays before the bus ride to Scotland. Looks like the older married couple will be next. I would have chosen punting too. Though it seemed everyone had a lot of difficulty steering and moving the punt. Only the twins did it effortlessly. Aghhhh!!!! What were the older married couple thinking when they had her do the three highland games event? Fatigue must have set in. The castle and the trail to it were magnificent.
He made her do it. Then he started yelling at her when she was doing the stuff. He's a late candidate for Husband Of The Year.
Mr. chairman I nominate the distinguished fellow from the great state of (insert state they are from) as the A-hole Husband of the year. What a jerk.
So far, I respect the twins....that may change, but at least they are focusing on the game, and not obsessing on the other players. Those young couples (I can't even tell them all apart yet) are all so worried about the twins that they aren't playing the game to their advantage. Traveling as a pack will hurt them and eventually they will need to all split up and focus on themselves as there are less couples. I find that older married couple embarrassing. What was with that "beam me up, Scotty" crap when they found out they were the last team to make it. I'm happy that the Baptist and gay son walked away feeling good about themselves. That makes it worthwhile.
Worst Fast Forward ever! I was sad that Dennis and Big Gay Andrew got eliminated, they were so nice to each other this leg. Ian. Must. Be. Eliminated. What a prick. The twins actually seemed in this leg to not be as dumb as I originally thought they were. The opposite brothers are so freaking funny, and when they fell off the boat with an audience, I lost it. Hey Arianne? Shut the hell up. John Vito and Jill are my pick to win at this point. They just seem to have it together, they never get pissed off at each other, which is more than I can say for just about anyone else.
Indeed. Lost one of the most entertaining contestants there. Especially since he is so bad @ the game. Its okay to be a prick if you are a good strategist etc. Not if you are a complete bozo like this guy. They creep me out. Like those tiny chicks that used to hang out with Mothra in the Japanese monster movies. I like them. I hope they hang in there for a while. Is she the one getting topless all the time or is that Flo? Indeed. VITO!!! VITO!!! VITO!!! I think Kathy might be the most useless/boring contestant ever to appear on the show. Weren't they the only ones to do the bicycle @ the roadblock?
They're totally the real life versions of Derek Zoolander. But they seem to be nice enough guys, not full of themselves like everyone expected. Yep, that's Arianne. She's also the shrill one. I wouldn't mind if Flo got topless though; she's cute. No, I think John Vito and Jill did the bicycle, and one more team... Maybe Aaron and Arianne? Anyway, nothing wrong with the bicycle, that's what I would've done too.
Oh, you didn't mean the twins (Derek and Drew), you meant the indistinguishable Harvard Law chicks (Heather and Eve). (Harvard sucks.) Yeah, they're annoying. Cry more, Eve. Actually, I can tell them apart because Heather lived on my freshman floor at Cornell. Really.
I agree he's annoying. Yeah, I thought so too. She seems to want a knight in shining armour to complete the whole contest for her, while she contributes her smile.
After a two week interuption due to the Country Music Awards, the Amazing Race II returns tonite. Any thoughts on who might be next out of the race? Here's a link to the leaderboard http://www.cbs.com/primetime/amazing_race3/leaderboard/index.shtml
Man, do I hate Ian. I felt so bad for 911 tonight. Thank goodness they weren't eliminated b/c of all that crap. JV & Jill got screwed too.
I have no idea what you people are talking about, I just happened to accidentally click and got sucked in. And whoever posted that Mothra thing; that's truly sick that you even know about that site
And yet the teams that got screwed didn't get eliminated, because AA were SO far behind. (And thank heavens, because they? Are annoying.)
Le Grande Finale 9pm tonight the finale for the Amazing Race 3. Which team do you like? I'm rooting for the brothers, Ken and Gerard. Screw Teri and Ian and Flo (sorry Zach, but you are a team). http://www.cbs.com/primetime/amazing_race3/ Here's Flo doing what she does best complain, while Zach tries to go with the Flo.
How very disappointing. The only consolation is that Teri and Ian didn't win. I'm very happy for Zack, but Flo is such a ************. I don't use that word (the c-word) much but that's pretty much what she is. He kept them together and in the race and she yells at him in Seattle for not leading her directly to the international fountain. What a hose beast....... If Drew had any sense he'd run, run far away from the ultra whiney, ultra bitchy Flo beast Too bad for Ken and Gerard. They we unlucky not to find a cab for that last leg.
Congratulations to Zach. I hope that Flo gives half of her winnings to him. Without his patience, optimism and determination she would have quit the race on the river in Vietnam. I loved the line that Ken flipped to Flo in Hawaii. "It too early in the morning to be whining" What a shame that Flo is so horrible inwardly. She really is a beautiful girl, but her personality kills it. I'd be curious if she is still friends with Zach or if she blew him off. I felt that Ian's mea culpa was well just matter of fact. I must say they did do well. I wonder how well they would have fared if they didn't end up in Vietnam. It seemed like a decided advantage due to Ian's service in the Vietnam War. Yeah, too bad about Ken and Gerard, but they along with the gay son and his Dad and John Vito and Jill were the real winners of the Amazing Race III. My daughter stayed up well past her bed time to watch the final. She turned to me when it was nearly over and she said, Dad I'm sad it's over. it such a good show. Looking forward to race IV.
