Didn't see an existing thread for the new season, so here goes. 'Race,' 'Clubhouse' to switch Eye slots CBS has opted against slotting "The Amazing Race" on Saturday nights and will instead add the red-hot reality skein to its Tuesday lineup next month. In a busy day of schedule shifts, Eye told affils that two-time Emmy winner "Race" will premiere Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 9 p.m. with a two-hour episode, replacing struggling frosh skein "Clubhouse." Latter show will shift to Saturdays at 8 -- the spot in which CBS had planned to air "Race" this season. "Race" was supposed to shift to Saturday nights in September, but after the skein's boffo perf this summer, Eye execs decided to put that plan on hold to see how the fall battle shook out. One month into the season, "Clubhouse" is underperforming, making the "Race" move wholly logical. Great news! I knew the show was doing much better in the ratings, and with the Emmy it made sense for CBS to of course bring it back. Last season was actually my first watching the show, and I can't wait for this one to start.
Great news! I thought I'd have to wait until next summer. This show is fantastic, although I'm always so annoyed by some of the teams' behavior. The best moment was this season, when the young Christian models commented in Egypt, "Gosh, there are a lot of mosques here! It's like every other block has a mosque." (Paraphrased). Quango
Those models were annoying. I was cheering for Chip and the Bowling Moms. They had class and a sense of humor. Can't wait for the next season!
LOL, yeah actually I think at first they called them "those church things". My favorite moment was undoubtedly the drive-by "bitching".
Most annoying?: Formerly dating personal trainers. Ugh. It seems like the model population is overly represented. The pro-wrestlers ought to be fun. They'll cramp up in the small taxis. Looking forward to the season, though. Quango
Great start to this season. I was kind of surprise the two Brooklyn boys lost. It looked for a time that the Queens girls were going to get knocked off. Oh, if Johnathan and Victoria win, I will give up Television forever.
Two great quotes from tonights ep. "My implants are frozen" - Lori "Shut up you dumbass redneck" - Bolo to Lori I feel sorry for Bolo, if I were him I'd punch her in the neck.... hard. I'm pulling for Hayden and Aaron.
Lori and Jonathan should be a team. Who would win that war of mouths? I agree that the models are overrepresented. I'm watching out for Don and Mary Jean and Hayden and Aaron. They seem the coolest so far.
"My implants are frozen" might be the best line in the history of television. I like Hayden & Aaron, Don & Mary Jean, the surprisingly cool Lena & Kristy, and the very entertaining Lori & Bolo. The overly Botoxed Jonathan & Victoria hopefully will get a beat down from somebody during the race.
Jonathan and Victoria, the couple from hell! My son who's 13, commented that they and the wrestlers look headed for divorce court. Iceland is scenic, but also looks very bleak! Not a tree to be found. Also don't know what time of day they were driving but the sun was barely above the horizon. Imagine if that is the best the weather gets during the height of summer and there are icebergs, glaciers and ice cliffs! The waterfall was pretty.
I knew that they were a troubled couple when Victoria said that Jonathan always gets his way. Seems that she is a bit of a submissive.
I wasn't thinking divorce court for Jonathan and Victoria, I was thinking that he would be the first reality TV contestant to get arrested for beating his wife on TV.
I was dead wrong (although they apparently decide never to speak to one another again in the next episode). Wow, Jonathan (or should I say Artie Ziff)could be the worst reality TV character ever. Man, I loathe that guy.
