People don't hate Cruyff-the football player, they hate Cruyff-the Golf playing professor.

You mean the professor who sat on the bench with Barcelona in the early 90's? I can imagine why a Madrid fan would dislike him. Seriously though, he is one of the few former greats who actually has ideas about football, which should be praised however incoherently he sometimes presents them. It is still more than can be said of a certain performance enhancement promoting Brazilian. So a bit more respect, please.

I don't expect a Barcelona fan to not agree with Cruyff.
It's similar to Beckenbauer in Munich.

There are plenty ideas of Cruyff I disagree with, in fact ;)

I don't think it does, as a matter of fact. I don't think you have to fully agree or disagree with someone because of what club he played for. I agree with some of Cruyff's ideas about football, but not all of them. But even if he has ideas I don't agree with entirely, he still deserves respect.

Anyways, about the film...I read a similar film exists about George Best in a game against Coventry. Has anybody seen it?

Also, I just wrote a small review about it, you can find it here

The Kid has the same moves as his dad but is alot darker. I think both of Zidanes sons play for the RM Youth Team.

Zidane was offered a job as Trainer/Coach for the Youth but he told Calderon that he first wanted to enjoy his retirement but he would be very interrested in the offer on a later point. Isn't Zidane still the Club Ambassador?

Yes I think he is. Guys, wouln't it be great we had another 2 Zidane's playing for us? Even if they only reach 90% of what their dad were, they'd still be good. Let's hope the best for their development.

Being 90% of Zidane could be just as talented without the World Cup medal, European Cup medal, Champions league medal, Scudetto, and La Liga. All those championships have to be more than 10% of a career.
I think Zidane will soon be remembered and mentioned in the same breathe as Pele and Maradona. It is sad that playing in Madrid he was somewhat overshadowed by Beckham and Ronaldo. But if you ask these two guys I am sure they will tell you they absolutely idolize Zizou.
It makes me so sad to think about his sending off in the final. I have no doubt he would have led France to the win and cemented his place as the all time great if not for that. I hope he does come back to work for Real in some capacity some time in the future. Watching that goalazo for the novena on tv is something that will never be erased from my memory, it brings a smile to my face to this day thinking about it.

I don't expect much. Most second generation of super superstars did not live up to expections. The fathers of Maldini and Veron were no Beckenbauer, Pele or Cruyff. Jordi while he got plenty of criticism is actually the best of the 2nd generation superstars. The sons of Beckenbauer, Pele, and Maradona all played soccer, but only Jordi actually made it in the top level.

^ I read somewhere that Maldini is going to have his number 3 shirt retired in Milan (like Baresi's 6) but that he will allow his son (I think his name is Cristian) to wear it if he ever breaks into ACM's first team. That's some tough sh!t right there, to get to wear a retired shirt.

we should retire the number 5 jersey and only let zidane's son enzo wear it if he breaks into the RMCF first team. eh?

That would be like filling up a rucksack with one hell of a big lump of pressure, and telling the kid "wear this when you play".

From what I'm hearing, Enzo is doing great. If he is half what his father was, he will be a great Real Madrid player. The pressure on him will be enormous. I guess we'll have to wait 4-6 years before we even see him with Castilla.

Yes, that would be the one I meant. Thanks for reading, btw, check back! :) I mean, it's only a matter of time before I will somehow have to write something about Redondo. Like how our coach wouldnt allow a midfielder to wear number 4 (Guardiola's), so I got a certain argentinian's 6 instead.

i don't think nike mocked zidane in that commercial, they were kind of paying tribute to him by showing that only zidane's head can topple materatzi and no other object.
